Admittedly, the general purpose of study history is to impart people lessons and experience drew from the past, and to provide people with standards and principles to follow in daily life. However, considering a more wider domain, study of history still values much even if it`s not relevant to our daily life. Therefore, I agree with the statement insofar as study of history has values when it`s relevant to our daily life.

To begin with, undoubtedly, there exist many eternal spirits and moving deeds in history, which can guide and regulate our daily behaviors and our minds. Hence, from this point of view, study of history has considerable values. For instance, people can get to know and accept the original objects of mankind—truth, benevolence and beauty—through studying the historical heroes who had sacrificed for the progress and evolution of human being. Then, they probably promise to regulate their minds and daily behaviors under the guidance of these pure and noble spirits. People, especially students and youngsters, can also obtain courage and hope to fight for a better tomorrow through studying those moving deeds of heroes. Hence, there is no denying the crucial and indispensible function of studying history in people`s daily life.

Notwithstanding, we have got to fully realized that the study of history does have other significant values, which are equally important as relating to daily life. From my viewpoint, learning history sometimes can serve as the optimal path to solve the tough and complex political problems, and can also be the foundation of creating artistic works for artists.

Considering the dispute between China and Britain about the ownership of HK, one of Chinese islands, which had negotiated through thick and thin, was finally solved peacefully under the condition of understanding the history correctly and objectively. Clearly, when it comes to disputes regarding territory, the best path is to study history and find out the truth. Another example is Willy Brandt, who fell on his knees before the monument to Jews to apologize for the cruel crimes committed by Nazi Germany. The moving behavior had earned the understanding and forgiveness of the suffered, and it in return greatly promoted the relationships between Germany and other countries. Therefore, correctly understanding history values much in addressing some political problems.Additionally, study of history can also be the foundation of producing masterpieces. A typical example is Sima Qian, great Chinese historian, who created the Records of Grand History of China by studying more than 3000 Chinese history. Hence, arts can usually draw ideas or inspirations through learning history.

To summarize, the study of history does have value of guiding and regulating people`s behaviors and minds; however, there also exist many other significant values even if they are not relevant to daily life.
