131 "The arts (painting, music, literature, etc.) reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society."

艺术（绘画、音乐、文学等）展现了那些隐藏的观点和社会的脉动。

Arts, such as painting, music, literature, etc, can be viewed as a high level of spiritual entertainment. Painting often presents us wonderful scenes in vision; Music usually brings us delightful feelings in hearing; literature typically gives us fantastic inspiration in mind. However, beside such experiences, can arts provide us more meaningful contribution to the human society?  

To some extent, arts as a powerful tool for people to express their thoughts. “The great artist knows how to impose their particular illusion on the rest of mankind,” proclaimed Guy de Mauspassant. As art works can be easily preserved, there are no wanderings that wise people usually achieve their work in the form of arts to influence people generation by generation. The concept of the invisible hand is generalized beyond Adam Smith, who is well-known by one of his art works, The Wealth of Nations. The book reveals the hidden rules for national wealth, which still have important meaning of guidance for us to overcome the financial crisis today. John Locke, one of the most famous political philosophers, especially in North America. His theory of the ideal society, developed in his book Two Treatises on Government, which has had a great influence on political systems. All viewpoints in his work describe virtual systems, which didn’t exist at his time, have contribution to enhance society civilization for generations.

However, more arts are nothing significant but to be used as an amusement way for people to release their feelings. Rock music is one of the favorite music forms obsessed by people nowadays, especially the young. As a way for relaxing, the rock music brings the fun and free to people, and one would not to expect that such music can be more useful to the society. Even worse, arts such as violence TV shows maybe more harmful to people. From the business prospective violence sells, and more viewers means higher ratings. Therefore, the increasing TV shows involving violence are filled in daily life. People increase fear of becoming a victim of violence, with an increase in self-protective behavior and an increase in mistrust. To vulnerable children, the more they relate to the aggressive behavior in the program, the more likely they will be to emulate the characters’ actions, which may lead to the tragic result regretting for the rest of their life.   

Admittedly, arts create awareness of social issues. Arts may express and reflect the religious, political, and economical aspects of human society. Arts, however, are just like tools for people to accomplish their objectives. Therefore, the tools can be useful for all human beings with better life, and also can be harmful to the society with less safety, depending on who using them and what their purposes. Specifically, to the people who are care about the human life, they will try their best to well-used the arts as powerful tools to reveal the hidden law of both nature world and human society, which is significant for human civilization. To the people who are only concern their own benefits, they will use the arts as tools to meet their own purposes without taking others into consideration. Art works produced by such people usually meaningfulness even harmful to the society.   

In conclusion, arts are deliberate recreation of a new and special reality that grows from one’s response to life. Arts can be meaningful for people used in the right way by enhancing, changing and perpetuating our society. Otherwise, they are nothing else and even dangerous to people, and social solidarity could be damage.

你的思路很清晰，语言也相当不错啊！提几点我的想法：
1.针对题目，在第一段中直接提出自己的观点会不会更好一些呢
2.第一段说的是人可以用艺术来对社会产生很大的（积极的）影响，但是这跟艺术揭示社会的隐藏的思想和冲动之间的关系我觉得还是不够紧密。最好能跟题目结合起来，否则你通篇都变成了在讨论艺术对社会的影响以及怎么决定这种影响的正负面了。
3.另外，我的思路觉得跟你差别蛮大的（我没有写，跟你讨论下哈！），题目说的是艺术能展现社会中隐藏的想法和冲动，我觉得这不是一个讨论艺术对社会作用以及如何作用的问题，而是只针对这个statement，来讨论到底艺术能不能揭露社会中某些隐藏的东西，延伸起来就会继续说这个被隐藏起来的冲动对社会又会有什么影响。当然，换个角度想，我又觉得你把重心放在艺术上，去分开不同的艺术形式会有不同的作用，并不一定能反映社会隐藏的东西上，也是可以的吧！只是扣题再紧一点就好了。
