On the contrary, some people claim that we do not have free choices, due to the moral accountability and inevitable disasters. After a careful consideration, I agree with the speaker for its accordance with our common sense and everyday experiences as well as an optimistic attitude towards life.

To begin with, I concede that there are many compulsory things in our life that we can not resist. For example, the family where we were born as well as the living environment do not depend on our subjective consciousness. Sometimes we feel not free to make any choices because there are so many laws and moral disciplines to restrain us. What's more, under some circumstances, we have no choice but only to accept the unwanted results. Take the earthquake for example, it happened without giving people any choices. As a result, thousands of people died and left great grief to the survivors. I admit that the absence of choice is very rare at least in these circumstances.

However, sometimes people regard these things unchangeable just because we give up the choices deep in heart before the results come out. Just as the eminent" father of modern philosophy", Descartes once said," It is not the life but us that offer the worst we can meet." It accurately informs us the truth that we can walk out of the dilemma eventually as long as we insist on our believes and willing, or we will be beat off by ourselves. For instance, after the earthquake, different supplements and medicine from all over the world were carried to the disaster area to help the victims. Besides, people gathered together to help reconstruct homes for those who lost their family members and houses in the disaster. People shared solidarity during the difficulties and chose a way of pursuing new life instead of yielding to the disappointed situation. In short, we can choose the way we want to live through an optimistic attitude and great efforts.

Furthermore, thanks to the fast development of technology and our wide-accepted society, we have more free choices nowadays. With advances in the medical treatment, we have more effective ways to cure disease and enhance our physical well-being, comfort, and life span. With the development of electric communication, we can choose to e-mail our friends quickly or enjoy the way of sending letters. As universities provide diverse classes nowadays, we can choose the major according to our interest and fully develop our potential and talent. Therefore, those who are interested in geography may successfully predict the earthquake to lessen the victims in the future.

In sum, the absence of choice is a circumstance that is very rare as long as we treat it in a happy way. When we really achieve looking things in an optimistic attitude, choices are everywhere. As the world is so developed today, it is what we think that really conduct our lives.
