The speaker asserts that reading books today is no longer very important just for the reason that comtemporary society offers us  so many ways of learning. obviously, the speaker overstates the importance of  the number and the variety of ways of learing and negates the dominant superioty of books in learning.  i fundamentally agree that in our high-tech age,  people today are enjoying learning through many ways.however,this does not mean that the importance of reading books will yield to the diversity of modern ways of learning.
firstly, i'd like to illustrae the the displaceable  importance of books through the following points. As  we all know, books have had a long history and as a form of documentation have played an pivotal role in the development of human civilization. Owing to books, history  can present itself through time and space to us. Because of books, we can immerse ourselves in the conversations with the greatest minds of all times.Without books, it is really hard to find another best way to preserve our culture from generation to generation.
secondly, i will show you why reading books in our times is still important to learning by unveiling the inherent characteristic of books. books are portable,so whenever and wherever you are, you can read books only if you want. when reading a book, you just need to read the words, which will not makeyou feel tired in a short time. these are just the most simple and physical advantages of books .moreover, from the spiritual viewpoint,  reading books can give you the fantastic  chance of encountering your hidden interest and curiosity  which may lead you to think about the world  and some specific issues deeply and insightfully, and obviously, this is another merit of reading books which can meet the ultimate goal of learning.
having going through the advantages of reading books,i think i have make it clear to you that reading books will always be the dominant way of learning  because of the importance of books and the advantages of reading books. however, in modern times, we can enrich our sourses of information through many other ways, just like watching TV, surfing the internet, listening to the radiao and so on. nevertheless, we should always psy more attention to reading  and enjoy our reading with our souls
