As the term "generation gap" paraphrases that gaps always exist between different generations, it is normal that parents could not understand their children thoroughly. However, do parents not understand their children so well as parents did 50 years ago? In my opinion, as the stresses from different aspects increase dramatically in recent years, many parents today could hardly understand the motions of their children as parents did in the past 50 years.
   Primarily, as the increasing stresses from modern economy, many notions children follow today is incredible for parents. For example, many parents nowadays could hardly understand why their children seldom back home. Reviewing to 50 years, many parents held their children's viewpoints that the normal life is to work during daytime and to relax back home after work. Contrarily, as the development of economy, to support a normal family requires times money than 50 years ago, thus, children nowadays have to spend more time on work especially part-time work to support their family. Tense stresses could also be applied to explain why many parents nowadays could not understand their children’s addicted to computer games or other entertainment
Moreover, as they have been used to enjoy happiness from materials and wealth, many children nowadays try to avoid of responsibilities that parents followed for generations, which is unacceptable to today’s parents. For example, so many parents today could hardly accepted the fact that many children choose to culture no next generations just because of bringing babies is difficult and troublesome; while turning back to 50 years ago, many parents held consistent opinion with their children that bringing next generation is a must mission for human beings.
In short, as the sharp increase of stresses from economy, many motions children follow today really difficult for parents to understand. Also, as they immerging in happiness from materials and wealth, contemporary children’s life attitude could also hardly for parents to accept.
