20号签证的一行人从上海回来后，我直接坐1路车回去了，
其他的人被一辆（蓝绿色的）小巴拉到了南区。
于是他们开始了被隔离的日子，我开始了在大街上晃荡的日子。
今天晚上战战兢兢回学校，发现他们昨天就被放回来了。>~<
前面akid,guangwww, herbt,geopyhsics等人已经把签证经过讲的非常详细了。
我就把自己的经历当作另一个case study，不具有普遍性。
我是去年毕业的，9718er，打算去MU念educational measurement and statistics
换专业，非应届生，single, young, female，
那我们练习签证的那一天的话来说，“浑身是伤”。
但签证的时候只问了一个难度级别高一点的问题，就是回国后打算干什么
20号那天抽到的号是40，遇到的签证官是大 glassboy，我是他当天前的第一人，
也是我们一行8个人中第一个签的，我的时间稍微长些，和akid差不多同时签完。
当40号在8号窗口辆起来的时候，我走了过去。
去的时候，VO正拿着我的签证费收据。
ME: Good morning, sir.
VO: Good morning. I am sorry I broke this slip. （把撕破了的收据
    指给我看，很抱歉地样子）. I am really sorry.
ME: It's ok.
VO: So how are you?
ME: Pretty good. How are YOU?
VO: Good. So you will go to Univ. of Missouri. What will you study?
ME: Educational measurement and statistics. It belongs to Educational Psycho
logy.
(我必须解释这一点，因为我的I20上写的是Educational Psychology，我怕他问很多ps
ychology
的问题，那可是我的弱项。）
VO: Eduational what?
ME: measurement and statistics.(由于过于紧张重复了measurement这个单词两次，大
家可以试一下
在紧张的时候这个单词很难发清楚） I am a little nervous.
VO: It's ok. (smile) What is educational measurement and statistics?
ME: It's the study of theory and methods of analyzing quantitative data and
measuring important
variables in educational research.
VO: Did you bring your resume.
ME: sure. (hand him my resume)
VO: (looking at my resume) Very good. (continue looking) oh,
   you got very high score in TOEFL.
ME: yes. (then smile and say nothing because he is concentrating on my resum
e.)
VO: You like teaching?
ME: Yes. I have always been interested in teaching. You see, I have a lot of

    teaching experience. I taught when I was at college. Most of them are pa
rt-time jobs.
    (ft，其实就是家教。但是因为我的大方向是教育，这些也只好算上并且单独列了出
来）
VO: Good. Do you have an advisor,a future advisor at Univ. of Missouri?
ME: Yes. My advisor will be Dr......
VO: Do you bring any introducation to him?
ME: Sure. I've brought his webpage. (hand him the printed pages)
VO: (quickly scanned the first page) You are well-prepared. I appreciate
    your help in coming here early and good preparation.
ME: (smile) and Thank YOU for your work.
VO: (big smile, nearly laugh) It's my job. Can you tell me about your adviso
r's research interest?
ME: You can see from his homepage, his research interest is psychometrics.
VO: What is psychometrics?
ME: It's the combination of educational psychology and measurement.(这个问题
事先没有准备，胡乱说的
    实际上，我对将来要学的专业了解的并不多，尤其是很多概念不能给出比较完备的
答案。但似乎VO们并不十分
    在意你是怎么回答的。）
VO: Good. (think for a while) Do you have your transcripts?
ME: sure. Shall I open them for you?
VO: (think for a second) please.
ME: (while opening the transcripts) My major was English and Science Program
, I also took a second major
    during studing at USTC. (hand him four pages of transcripts.)
VO: (only look at the first page) En, you've got good marks.
    （我保持微笑，没有说什么。过了一会儿，VO开始拿过我的I20表，实际上，在最开
始他已经在我的DS表上划过了）
    It's a lot of money.
ME: Yes. They give me a fellowship and a graduate assistantship.
VO: Why so much money?
ME: they gave me the assistantship first. and then the committee nominated f
or the fellowship. You see, the money
    is more than enough. (本来打算说I20上第几项比第几项多多少钱，但突然忘了到
底是第几项）You can see it from my offer letter.
    (VO开始看交上去的三页admission letter 和offer letter）
ME: The fellowship and assistantship are for five years.
VO: Five years? You must be very good.
    (我微笑，没说什么。）
VO: What will you do after graduation?
ME: I hope to have a postion at China Ministry of Education. In China, educa
tional research is conducted qualitatively,
   we need quantitative research.  China does not have an organization
   like ETS to provide quality and standardized testing programs. What I wil
l study will be important to China. You know, China has
   a large population. Education is very important to such big a country.
VO: En. Yes. Education is very important. How do you know you can find a job
at China Ministry of Education? Do you know it well?
ME: China Ministry of Education is my first choice. If I were not able to fi
nd a position there, I woould work as a professor at the
    education department of a prestigious Chinese university. (^_^，估计这句
话让他听了无数遍了吧。似乎他也不想在这个问题上纠缠下去，就没继续问。）
VO: Do you have any paper?
ME: Yes. I've brought my bachelor's thesis. It's .......## is part of $$, an
d $$ is part of educational measurement.
VO: Can I have a look at it?
ME: sure. (give him my thesis. He only looks at the cover and does not open
it and then gives it back to me.)
VO: Well, go to window 11 and enjoy your life in America.
ME: Thank you very much. Have a nice day.
   (好像他还说了句什么，兴奋得没顾得上听。）
遂跑到10号窗口前－－咱们部队人马所在的地方，向他们举起手臂，这是akid也签完过
来，挥了挥胳膊，表示成功。
guangwww，geophysics,herbt等人询问VO都问了些什么问题，我们兴奋而又小声的说着
。还说要把我们的运气都送给接下来要签的同学。
这时出现了一点小问题。akid拿着她的i20表，问我的表还给我了没有。我一看，糟糕，
我的所有表都没有还给我！！
这是8号窗口上显示的还是我的号码，大glassboy还没有开始叫下一个。于是我又冲了过
去。他正在看一份表（我还以为是我的，后来意识到
是下一个人的，VO看到我又冲了过去，很吃惊）
ME: Sorry sir. You did not give me my I20 and other forms. Will you keep the
m?
VO: (seems very innocent) I thought I've give them to you.
   (我这时突然想起来我刚才没有看袋子里面，是不是把表放进去了。还好，我冲过去
的时候袋子还拿着，一看，果然在里面！！真是no face）
ME: I am really sorry. They are here. (pointing into my bag.)
VO: (smile) It's ok. （后面一句又是没有听到，仓惶逃到10号窗口前的位置上。）
这次的经历我们8个人都有一些很有趣的事。当然最funny的是czyang在火车上喝醉啦。
