4.22Many teachers assign homework to students every day. Do you think that daily homework is , v5 a0 `+ a% X& ?" W7 enecessary for students? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.! i" L9 e*

According to my own experience and opinions,
I think the daily homework is somehow necessary for a student. I come to that conclusion based on three reasons.


First of all, students need some disciplines in their studies. The daily homework means you have to do something on daily base,  whatever you like or not, there is something waiting for you to take responsible for, therefore the homework somehow represents the disciplines that students need to pay attention to. There is no doubt that every student, even the smartest and the most diligent one, need some disciplines. Disciplines are like clocks, they not always bad or wrong, they just remind you when to stop and when to start. In that way, I’d like to think that daily homework is necessary.

Second reason why I think it benefit the students is that the daily homeworks can make students study more efficiently. By doing the daily homework, the students can not only remember what they’ve alreadly learned in the class but also have the opportunity to enlarge the scope of their knowledge. For example, if the teacher want the students to write an essay after class, students may use the library to read more reference books, they may even talk with others to enrich the personal experience, in that way, they can avoid just being ”book smart”, but also ”street smart”. Study shows that when people got the feelings that they’re learning by themselves, that’s make the whole study more fun and definitely more efficiently.

The last reason I think the daily homework can do no harm is that it can gives the teachers and parents some clues to figure out how their students or children are doing in school. It's very hard for the teachers to give each student enough attention, however by checking their homework, things may changed a little. For the busy working parents, daily homework also play an interesting role by making a link between them and their children, they can give their suggestion to the assignment whenever their children needed, by doing that, they not only share their knowledge, but also give care and love to their children. As we can see now, the daily homework is not just for students, it’s a bond between teachers and parents too. It’s their “homework” as well.

In a nutshell, I just think the daily homework is not a bad idea for everyone, however, since it is daily bases, I must mention one of the necessary factors that make it right, i.e it should be short and can be finished quickly, with fun and flexible as to the result. After all, it’s just homework. If the students have to spend most of their time on the daily homework, instead of doing exercise after class, meeting friends…not to mention sharing their time with the family, that’s a disaster. Quit and finding a bran-new class are high recommended.

Well, about the "book smart" vs.the "street smart", I'm afraid they may seemed like bit of informal, however, I'm sure they are existed in the current American life, 'cause I heard they from one of the very popular TV Shows in American called "Apprentice"(an interesting show btw.),haha...
