The speaker claims that colleges should require its faculty to work outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. I agree with this assertion insofar as some applied science teachers work outside. First of all, this is a good opportunity for instructor to open up their view. Suppose some professors combine their theory with practice and this behaviour accelerates the producing of production, many  people will profit by this production.As the teachers, they could be offered implement that are favorable with their study in these position. It is beneficial choice for most teachers. Some people approve a mechanical and production engineering teacher to go to workshop for his research rather than in library with many books. Secondly, teachers can grasp the ultimate in technology and the prospection of the profession. In this regard, professors can provide more information about the employment for the students. Measures like this can also greatly improve the enthusiasm of students while the professors get more finances for researches. The teacher can also theories which are different with his. The most beautiful fireworks comes from mixture hues. Blending and infiltration between different branches of academic studies may results in new theory.

But whether the assertion effective for teachers depends on their research field. If one majors in pure research, the speaker's assertion isn't suited to him. Some teachers may teach classical music or music theories, they don't need to take part in other works. A philosophy teacher may uses his brain to think deeply rather than work in the factory. The famous philosopher Socrates said, recognize yourself. We may understand it as the base of philosophy is thought. At this time, teachers' best place is their platform.

Also, we may attend to the other side of the speaker's assertion. If faculty spent too much time on their works out the school, they won't have enough energy to teach students. This is bad for the school's teaching level. The school's final purpose is improve the quality of instruction, not harm the students' profits. Sometimes this step may even prevent the research from developing.Thus faculty should find a neutrality between the two side depends on physical truth.
