which university are you going?
why choose this university?
what do you study?
do you have a advisor?
his homepage.
your resume.
your thesis.
how can ...(my major) be used?
give me more examples.
what's your plan after study?
why not stay in us?

   V (little GB)  M (me)
V:  How are you ?
M:  Fine, thank you ! (smiling)
V:En,you are a student of   ### Institute ?
M:  yeah,I will get my master degree this July, would you like to see the cert

ificate of my student stutatus?
V:  No, thanks.
V: can I  see your resume?
M: ok,here you are.
V:en ,where are you studying ?
M: (faint! I am a graduate student of #### Institute.
V: ok, you mean you will get your MS degree this July ?
M: yeah,
V :Can I see your thesis?
M: ok,here you are!
V: (after 20 seconds) what is ***  for ?
M: oh, it is for ###disease, a very common disease in pulmonary.
V: do you have your future advisor’s homepage?
M: yeah, here you are !
V: (after 10 seconds) ok, would you like go to Windows 11?
Faint!)
V: (smiling ) sure ,have a good day!
M: thank you very much !

vo:morning !
..:morning,sir
vo:U come from USTC?(很高兴的样子,可能我是第一个科大的缘故,嘿嘿)
..:yes
vo:r u undergraduate student or graduate student?
..:graduate student, will graduate in july
vo:ok.do u have resume ?
..:yes, here u r .(听了半天,才听见,主要是他的那个话筒实在声音太小,呜呜)
vo:ok,do u have graduate thesis ?
..:here,it is the abstract, and do u want to see my paper being published?
vo:yeah, ok
之后,就是梦里想死个人那,也么个 的著名的那句:please go to windows 11 to get your visa.
..: thanks .

Applicant:Gilbert
VO:大Glassboy
Major:Crystal Physics and Materials

G:good morning,sir!
VO:how are you!(由于microphone不好,听半天没听出来,最后大glassboy对着micropho

G:fine,thank you!
VO:please give me your resume?(由于大glassboy的reume发音太标准,听了几遍不知所

G:Here is my resume

VO:最后一句话:you are fine! Go to window 11 and get your visa!

God bless everybody!

Resume
Paper abstract
support letter

jf: Have you a resume?
me: Yes.
jf: (指着resume上一处语音编解码的术语) What is it?
me: It is a technology used to change human voice into digital signal.
It is usually used in telephone system.
jf: (%)&*)&_)(*_____)&*&*&^&)
jf: %^&(* your advisor ^)(&_?
me: (终于catch her了,赶紧点头) Yes.
jf: Have you a web page of the advisor?
me: sure.
jf: (指着主页上的术语Adaptive Modulation And Coding) What is is about?
me: It is also a technology used to process signal like human voice.
It can also be used in telepnohe systems.
jf: Can this technology be used to secret signals
and keep them from being intercepted?
No, no. It is not used to keep signals secret.
It is just used to change human voice into digital signals.
You know, current telephone systems can not process human voice
directly. It can only deal with the digital signals
because there are many computers in current telephone systems.
jf: Do you have papers?
me: Sure. I have an abstract of my thesis. Would you like to have a look?
me: (把摘要给她) Here you are.
me: As you know, because of copyright,
many companise does not issue their source codes to public.
    Such as Microsoft.
jf: (指着摘要) What about Linux?
En, it is a open source operating system
that is very popular because its source code is opened,
we can get Linux from many websites on Internet, and it is very flexible,

we can make many changes to it.
Many universities and professors use Linux to conduct their research
    works.
jf: ^(((), Would you like to go to window 11 to get your visa?
me: (心花怒放) Sure, thank you very much.

Me: How are you?
Vo: Fine, thank you and you?
Me: Fine, thank you.
Vo: You will pursue your phd degree?
Me: Yes, I will pursue my phd degree at the university of Maryland.
Vo: What is your present major?
Me: Biomedical Engineeirng.
Vo: The speciality?
Me: Medical Image Processing.

factories.
Vo: Can you give me your resume.
Me: Ok, Here you are.
Me: Bla...
Vo: Can you give me your future supervisor's homepage?
Me: Sure.
Vo: 看了10秒,It is intersting.
Me: Yes, very interesting.
Vo: Would you go to Window 11 to get your visa?
Me: Thank you very much.

用在什么场合的,只要应用不敏感,如果解释得有技巧的话还是有机会的;

推敲,只要解释得合情合理,VO还是放的;

I:Good Morning,Ms.
yy:Good morning.what's your major?
I:chemical Physics.
yy:What's aspect of your major?
I: theoretical chemistry.
yy:Show me xxxx documents.
没听清,拿了offer letter给她(事后猜测可能说的是show me all your documents)
yy:Who is you future advisor?
I:I haven't decided.But i am particularly interested in Professor xxx's work.H

e won the Nobel Prize in xxxx(这句话不知是否有用,不过之前练习了好几遍)。
yy:why xxxxx?
I :Sorry?
yy:Why do you pick him?
I:I am interested of his theoretical work of ...
yy:Give me your previous paper.
I:Sorry,I haven't.
yy:Why not bring it?You are not well-prepared.
I:I am an undergraduate students,I haven't any paper.Would you like to see my

research experience and plan?(递了过去)
yy:指着ds156问我?Your home is in xx?
I:yes
yy:Why not apply your visa in Beijing?
I:I am from USTC in hefei.
yy:go to window 1 right now!

yy:tell me something about your research work.
yy:I know that。Do you get it in physical method?
I:yes
yy:that's intersting.
yy:Go to window 11.
I:thank you very much.

Thanks to you all!!

6人在jfmm(似乎不是pp的jfmm)窗口7,1过,2check,3据。

me: aerospace Engineering

vo: you will be a RA?
Me: yes
VO: will you be a TA?
ME: yes, I will be a TA if the department give me the scholarship.
and i will continue to engage in teaching with PHD back to CHina
VO:why not in USA with a high Salary?

后又说l like to
communicate with others。

VO: who is your advisor?
me: Prof. ***

最后要我的导师homepage,看到导师是个中国人,她说,your advisor is a chinese
ME: yes

(Why no stay in US?)、选择学校的原因
(Why did you choose this univ.)

jfmm:What's your plan?
me:I will come back to China and find research position in a ......
me:It's my plan, because this field in China is not developed and in great nee

d of ......
jfmm(大声连说了三次,摇了三次头):It's not true!
me头大了,不知道哪里not true。

not true
jfmm:I know that condensed matter in Nanjing University is very good ......
me:Yes, it is very good in China, but compared with the field in US, there is

a big gap.
jfmm(步步紧逼,咄咄逼人):What gap?
me(简单想了两秒钟,感觉能够说服她,重拾信心):For example, blablabla

No.4, YYmm No5, jfmm No6(应该是以前的,长发), another jfmm no7(应该是新的,短

shmm---short hair jfmm
shmm:how are you?
me:good morning。

me:fine...fine
shmm: What's you current school?
me: What??My current?
shme:yes!
me:Nanjing Univ.
shmm:oh..Nanjing Univ...(在ds表上作笔记),What's your degree?
me:Im an undergraduate student, I will get my Bachelor degree at the end of th

is month.
shmm:(在ds上写下BS)Do yo have a work experience?
me:No,I haven't.Im a undergraduate student(repeat)(后来在我后面的复旦cs本

shmm: Do you have a thesis?
me: yes I have a thesis, this is my graduate thesis.
shmm: Any public thesis?
me: no, do you want to see my thesis?is abstract OK?
shmm:yes
shmm:What's it about?
me:it's about chinese word segmemtation(中文分词,显然他不懂,可是我根本没准备

It's not the problem of mic! It'

s you can't understand English!!!

me:OK, I wil study CS in #@# Univ in the US.(实在不知道她问的是什么,只能硬着头

shmm:(一直在摇头)I asked you what use of your thesis?
me: (终于知道了,原来真么简单,可是没准备过这个问题,再次紧张)It's a part of

a system. This system is a internet search engine like yahoo and google. But

our system is more brilliant.
shmm: why brilliant?
me: because it knows the meaning of the web pages and can give more exact resu

lts.
shmm: How does your system get information on the internet?
me:(人家没准备过这个问题嘛,你干嘛问这么深)^&&*It has a sworm program which

shmm: What's the differences of Chinese and other languages?
me:(什么吊问题)You know Chinese web  pages are very hard to be understood by c

omputer, and my work is the first process of whole processes to understand the

chinese web.

(Bluering,shanghai,6/2)

If I pass, everything is normal. If not, nothing is wrong.
