The speaker says that education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. In my opinion, before the students enter universities, the speaker's allegation is wrong. After the students go into universities, the speaker is right. My reasons are listed below.

At first, the speaker said the education should meet each student's needs and interests. Before the students go into the universities, as they are different from each other, they are growing up in diverse environment, so their individual needs are diverse, too. Maybe one student wants to be a computer engineer, another wants to be a doctor, they all have different dreams, so it is difficult to satisfy them at the same time, at the same classroom. Even though, some students may have some incorrect individual needs and interests. For example, one student loves computer, but he spends all his time playing computer games, can we still design a individual currilum to meet his interest? Of course not. As the students are not mature, they need our guide to help them correct their needs and interests.

Secondly, though the students' needs and interests are correct, the speaker's allegation is still wrong. According to the speaker's suggestion, the student whose dream is to be a scientist should only learn the science courses. With this situation, the student can promote himself in a short term, but in the long term, it is dangerous. As the student focus on science, he overlooks other subjects, such as literature, art, law and so on. When he go into the society, he can't communicate with others well, what's more, he can't express himself to others or introduce his research work to the community. The scientists who are successful always have some interests on humanties. Art, literature and other humanities can develop one's affectation and inspire one's imagination.

Finally, the speaker's allegation is difficult to realize. In the primary schools or middle schools, he teachers are much less than the students, one teacher must teach many students. On average, a teacher can spare a little time in every student, so the students' individual needs and interests are hard to be satisfied.

Admittedly, the students in the universities should be educated to meet their individual needs and interests as they have their own values about everything and become mature in mind. When they are facing with the society, they have the ability to do the best.

In sum, before the students go into universities, the education should be designed to meet the most students, not the individual. When the students enter the universities, they can learn what they need and have interests in.
