Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career.

Recently, more and more job opportunities are available for young people. Some of my friends, who have been graduated, have tried several jobs, while others keep on doing the work they initially found. According to what I have heard and seen from people around me, I think young people should try several jobs before they take a long term career.

To begin with, young people, especially those who newly graduate from college, don't know what kind of jobs they are really interested. One time, One of my friends chatted with me about his work. At the beginning, he thought it was a good work because he felt interested in it and could earn high salary. However, after working there for several months, he found that what he wanted to do was not marketing. He didn't like communicating with customers. Later, he found a new work in a researching department. Although the payment of the new work is lower, he said he was happier. Actually, my friend's problem is the one faced by many young people. When they are students, they may be interested in courses like marketing. However, they don't know the work in marketing may be different from what they image. Therefore, they may make wrong choices. When they confront the problem, it is necessary to change their work.

Moreover, trying several different jobs can be helpful for a long term career. Sometimes, work that one wants to take requires special knowledge or experience. By taking different jobs, they can accumulate the knowledge and experience which may help them to obtain the work they desire. For instance, my elder brother studied software in college and hoped to get a work in big software companies. However, the work he would like to do require 3-year-experience of program writing. After working in a small company for several years, he finally got a job offer from a big company. In fact, a lot of jobs require working experience. For graduates, they must first try several jobs before they find a dream one.

I concede that some young people obtain their dream works at the beginning. However, for the reasons mentioned above and many other factors, in my mind, before long term career, most of young people should try several different jobs.
