The statement asserts that the value of history can only assessed by that it can relevant to our daily lives. However, in my view, the value of the history is not only that it relevant to our lives, but also is the carrier of humans' cultures. From history we can learn the priceless cultures and spirits.

Admittedly, the direct way to indicate the history's value is whether it can benefit our society. As we know, in most cases, the purpose of people learns knowledge is to use it to create more profits or to improve our lives' level in various ways. For example, nowadays, many people learn from the history to find the health food and exercises to meet their mind of keep a health life styles, so many people learn Chinese Kung fu or Indian Yoga. And many people and scientists are research from the history to find better methods that can solve the problems we meet in life. From these, we can know which part of history is more useful and can value the history easy.


However, through this way we can not fairly evaluate the history, for history is the cream of human knowledge and it contains more than the practical knowledge which is just one small part of history. As we know, in many countries, students must learn history in the elementary school, and in some tribes they transfer their native knowledge from one generation to another which is a dull work. For history is the process of development of their nation, and forget it their native culture may also disappear. For example, after learn our own Chinese history, we know that the all of us are love peace, since the beginning of Chinese history, people are pursue the better life and always want to help the others. And in history, the great teachers taught us to keep kindness for everyone even the enemies, that is return good for evil. As we know, almost all nations’ history is teaching people to be the good ones and equally treat the other people or nature. Thus, learn from history will help us to build a peace and harmony future.

Furthermore, study history can helps to enhance the native cohesion. As we know, the cohesion is the situation in people’s mind, and to enhance the cohesion is difficult and
it needs long time, yet, the history is the best textbooks that to enhance it. For the history contains not only the splendid events, but also the abasement. In the history, a nation want to be grow up, it must remember both of abasement and splendid achievement, the splendid achievement is the direction while the abasement is the whip which will force you to developing ceaselessly. Moreover, to get great achievement, the whole nation should roped together to build their country. In the world, many nations may have the similar idea, so to build a better future, all of us should cohesive together to develop our science and technology, improve the mutual understanding, and protect our environment. As Lincoln, the great American president, said that the crack house can not stand on.

In sum, we can not judge the value of history by their directly function, in the meantime, learning history can help us to solve the social problems and enhance the cohesion. Moreover, learning history will helps us to avoid the disasters that lead by humans in the past and help us to build a better future.
