There are many ways for people to learn about a foreign country.
Some people prefer to live in that country for a period and talk to various people living (in) that country.
Others may rely on other resources, such as newspapers or magazines from that country or with plenty of information with respect(?) of that country.
Personally, I prefer the latter one to learn about a foreign country(去掉).
First of all, it is quite convenient for us to get acquainted with a place through mediums such as newspapers and magazine.
Nowadays, foreign newspapers and magazines are easily available in our country.
We don't need to(there is no need to ) travel to a foreign country and to live there for a long period of time in order to better understand their culture and people.
Most of foreign newspapers could be brought(bought) from bookstores or though(through) their websites and provide with us a comprehensive introduction of the foreign world.
Take my favorite magazine the Economist for example.
In order every issue of it from a bookstore in Shanghai.(读不通) Also, most of the articles are available online.
I learn a lot of the western world from reading various articles and analyses on this magazine.(扩展不错)
What's more, we will save a lot of money if we choose to learn about a foreign country though the newspapers and magazines.
Understandably, the fees and expenses for traveling abroad is formidable.
If we spend several weeks or even months abroad to learn about a foreign country, we need to prepare a large amount of money.
My best friend James had spent two months in America during his summer break this year.
He believed that experiencing the US culture would facilitate him in his English learning.
Of course, he did learn a lot from that trip, however in the expense of more than 10 thousand dollars for merely two months!
I believe that not everyone could afford this formidable price.
On the other hand, it won't require us to spend too much if we learn a foreign culture through reading newspapers or magazine.
Plus, many articles are provided on the websites of relevant newspapers or magazines totally for free!(没有感叹号)
Some people may argue that only when people experience a culture(country), can they learn about it better.
Admittedly, learning through newspapers or magazines may spend a bit more time to understand a culture compared with(to)learning by personal experience.
However, most of the information provided in newspapers and magazines are rather comprehensive.
Since most of us learn about a foreign country to facilitate our communication with foreign friends or clients or for foreign language learning, the information available in such mediums will be pretty enough to serve these purposes well.
Based on the above reasons, I believe that newspapers and magazines are the best ways to learn about a foreign country.
