Advertising is the most important cause of unhealthy eating habits.
Nowadays, in this era with increasing sensitivity about beauty and speed, more and more people especially women and children are becoming victims of unhealthy eating habits, including skipping or leaping breakfast, eating fruits and vegetables, eating while watching TV, having junk food instead of a real meal and so forth. But should we blame this on Advertising? Of course not!
Admittedly, there are some unhealthy eating habits that are somehow related to the extensive advertisements. For instance, many people are infatuated by junk food like French chips and fried kitchens because there are so many advertisement showing that how delicious the fast food in KFC or Mcdonald's is. They just cannot fight its temptation. What's worse, A handful of chips usually leaves you wanting more. the more they eat, the more they are willing to eat. But what if these people know that these food is lacking of nutrition and isare bringing them nothing but a flabbier and weaker body? Will they still jeoparodize their health to eating them regularlly and without restrictionesgion? Isn't people's unawareness and not being ableout to control themselves more to blame than the advertisement?
However, in fact, most of the unhealthy eating habits have nothing to do with advertising. Two examples are following. Skipping breakfast, as is widely known, is on the top list of unhealthy eating habits. It not only deprives you of the nutrients you need to kick start your body each morning but it also leads to the loss of muscle tissue. But different people got different reasons to do so. Many people who are going on a diet tend to leap meals, especially breakfast, assuming that will enable them to fight overpowering temptation later during the day. Others like many workers or students usually skip breakfast because they are always getting up too late to have time enjoy their it. Besides, there are also someone who just don't feel like eating anything in the morning without being awareawear of the bad effects it may bring. However, have you ever heard that someone drop his/hertheir breakfast for seeingfor they have seem some of the advertisements?
Also, among the causes of the bad eating habit, drinking while eating which deteriorates the quality of digestiondegistion, advertiszing cannot stand. According to a research, more than 80% of the people who would like to have some water, beer or beverage because they think that it makes them feel comfortable and more willing to eat. The others say that they just do that to get along withfolllow the crowd. From that we can see that it is because people's ignorance of the dangerre that caused them to form such an unsoundanituary habit.
In sum, so many people are guilty of one or more unhealthy eating habits without realizing their side-effects. Advertiszing may have pushed some of them, though, the key factor that cause them I'm afraid, is we human's ignorance and unawareness.
