Do you agree or disagree with thefollowing statement? Young people should try several different jobs before theytake a long term career.

The point that has been debated overthese years is that whether the young should explore varies of jobs before finalizedthe decision. I prefer the idea to experience the works before choosing one jobas career, because by experience the jobs, a young graduate can find hisadvantage, his interest and learn about the field he is going to devote therest of his life. Besides, these career experiences can be obtained by summerinternship or part-time jobs, which consumes less time than full time workafter graduation.

First consider the talent of a youngman, without experience of different kind of works; it would be merelyimpossible for him to identify what he is good at. Maybe someone needs to tryaccounting, research, management before he can finally good at marketing. Thereis a PhD selling electrodes to our lab, who had spent 7 years in his PhD inmedical but now works in an electrode company's selling department.

Another consideration is that theyoung can find what he is interested in through the working experiences. Forexample, the PhD mentioned above, he became a technician after his graduationof his PhD program. However, he suddenly realized he was tired dealing with rat-- he preferred to talk with people instead. And that is the reason why hechose the current job. After all, the knowledge from the book can't provide usa full aspect view of the society. Thus we need to explore it before we make afinal decision.

Besides the talent and interest in thefield, working experience is required to prepare the new graduates for theircareers, while this experience can only be gain by work for companies and participatingand making efforts to the projects. In this way, the young can not onlypractice what they learned from class but also view the field from a moreprofessional and practical point of view, which can facilitate them in choosingcareers.

Furthermore, the working experiencecan be obtained from summer internship or part time jobs, so that the graduateswould equipped with adequate experience and understanding of the field ofinterest when they step out of the university. Though this part-time experiencemay not truly reflects the career the graduates are going to fight for theirlife, yet valuable for the career and doesn't consume years after graduation.

To sum up, the young should explorethe field of his career before finalizing his long term job because theexperience is valuable and would save them more time. To gain the workingexperience, the young can take summer internship or part-time jobs, or evensandwich year before their graduation when they are going to choose theircareer.
