Younger school children should be required to study art and music in addition to math, science, history and language.

When it comes to the issue that whether younger school children need to be required to learn art and music while studying math, science, history and language, people's perspectives are divergent considerably. Some people argue that it is not necessary for children to study art and music. Others, like me, hold the opposite opinion. Among countless factors which contribute to my position are the following conspicuous ones.

To begin with, learning art and music at a young age do benefit children's character formation. First and foremost, art (art education), such as piano (learning to play music on the piano 或者 studying piano), plays a favorable and far-reaching role in the cultivation of persistence （加which is necessary for success）. So painstaking and strenuous is playing piano that one can not
（cannot） choose but practice day and night for years and nourish strong persistence. (这句话我没有看懂。) For instance, I persist to（persisted on） learn and play piano (learning to play piano) every night for nearly 10 years so that I won the first prize in the National Piano Completion in 2006 and own(harvested) considerable character of persistence. In addition, the stories of artists and musicians, ranging from brave Yi Nengjing to hardworking Beethoven, can inform the(删) children what characters give rise to achievement and at the same time the children, unconsciously and subconsciously, （加would） accept and copy such characters. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that children's wonderful character can be formed via learning art and music.

Not only can studying art and music be conducive to children's character nurturing, but also can sever (serve) as a catalyst for finding an ideal job. As is demonstrated in China Daily, a famous newspaper in China, employers nowadays are increasingly laying emphasis on employee's art and music talent, such as dancing, playing basketball as well as singing (singing as well as playing basketball), rather than merely professional knowledge and technology. It comes no surprise that one who owns those talents is more readily concerned by the boss and therefore gets the most admirable job. To illustrate this, I can think no better example than the case of Wang Yuan (个人觉得有点绝对。I can easily find an example of Wang Yuan), who is my senior fellow and success (my senior fellow who did succeed) in getting a job in the Health Ministry of Shanghai. Wang Yuan had never get(got) the highest score during his college life, however, he is eminent and noted in his excellent even perfect skill(skills) on(in) dancing and playing basketball. It is due to his talent on art and music (art, music and even sports) that he takes precedence over others to be selected. In a word, learning art and music is of great importance in (to) job hunting.

Admittedly, studying music and art, to some extend (extent), needs a tremendous amount of time, time that we can use to invest on upgrading our knowledge of math, science, history and language. Nevertheless, this minor disadvantage pales when confronted with its merits and advantages. Therefore, I am strongly convinced that young children need to learn art and music in addition to math, science, history and language.
