想知道一下UW的统计学研究生如何，U Washington的统计学研究生，非生统专业的
看UNews的排名第6，但是我看这个地方没人说到这个学校的统计学呢？

要是申请phd的话，就不要考虑了。
今年完全没钱招phd，明年都不知道能不能缓过来。
还走了3-4个教授，如果不解决钱的问题的话，过2-3年后的排名就不好说了。
唉，真希望能早点恢复正常，公立学校里出个好的不容易啊。。。。。。。

我去过那个学校交流觉得环境很好的地方城市很安静舒服印象很好
希望知情者说说那边的统计MASTER就业都怎样金融机构之类的工作机会多吗

There was funding issues last year. 2011 may get better.
There are few PHD students directly coming from Mainland. One Chinese student I knew got his MS in the U.S. first.

MS may not have funding. There are two options: thesis and exam.

Seattle is a fabulous city to live in and Stat Department is relatively small, which I prefer.
UW is the best school in the Northwest (WA, OR, ID, etc.). I won't worry too much about finding a job : )

BTW, my opinion is biased : P

M$ has a very good relationship w/ UW. There are some M$ people went to the Stat Department to get a degree.
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center hires biostatistician.
Google has an office in Seattle. I know a statistician working at Google.
Amazon hires statistician as well. A former post-doc is working for Amazon.
There are some consulting firms in Seattle as well.
Weyerhaeuser (http://www.weyerhaeuser.com/) has a team of statisticians. I went there for a tour once.
