Having watched the unforgettable scene ofthe opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games, increasing number of people aremotivated to be sports fans. Apart from the exciting sport games, the positive effects of playing sportson our life are the major reasons inducing people’s interest in sports.
In the beginning, some sports spiritdisplayed in the game are essential in our life. Team-work, loyalty, confidenceand trust are the key elements when we play sports, all of which are prerequisiteif we want to build up a harmonious life. Basketball players, for instance, cannot win the competition without the close cooperation with team members. Similarly, collaboration with others in our life will enable one to confront with andoverwhelm the tough assignments. These sports spirits are incredibly helpful inour life.
What is more, playing sports emphasize the importanceof equality, which is required not only in work but also in daily life. When Iwas nine years old, I took part in the Ping-Pong ball competition in the primaryschool as a representative of my class. In the last round, the referee, who was theclassmate of my adversary, ignored his mistakes several times. As a result, myclass and I lost that game and I was gradually accustomed to suspect whetherthe judgments were impartial in following years. I kept that experience in mindfor more than ten years because it was the first time for me to taste theinequality and realize how it would negatively influence the consequence and people'sview on the society.
Last but not the least, playing sports motivates us to fight for what we deserve. Manysituations we faced in the sports are the reflections of our daily life. Whenthe sports playersstruggle to win their champions, we, at the same time, are eager to have betterperformance in study or work by our continuous contribution. Take one of famousChinese athlete Liu Xiang as an example, after witnessing his diligentexercises before the game and his success in the Olympic Games, many Chinesefriends around me were inspired to devote to the work and the country in order to win a first-classlife conditions.
All in all, while some people contend thatplaying sports is a waste of time, I hold the perspective that it is an indispensable way forhuman beings to learn our life. The precious spirits exhibited in the sports, the equality demanded during the game and the sports players consistent effortswill undoubtedly lead our life into a brighter direction.
