PhD Studentships in Statistics, University of Padova, Italy 2010/11
(Application Deadline: 1 October 2010)

The seven positions for the PhD School in Statistics are covered by scholarships of 13,638 euros per year for a total of 3 years.  The School may also contribute to travel and living expenses abroad subject to budget availability.

    * 6 positions are supported by scholarship from the University of Padova; and
    * 1 position is supported by scholarship from Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo on the subject "Innovation diffusion processes: diachronic competition, interpersonal communication, and networks"  (supervisor: Professor Renato Guseo).

Application is open to people of all ages and citizenship.  Applicants must be in possession of one of the following qualifications by the day of the first meeting of the Evaluation Committee:
- Diploma di Laurea (vecchio ordinamento);
- Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale (nuovo ordinamento);
- an academic qualification issued by a foreign university and recognized as equivalent to the aforementioned qualifications.

Admission to the PhD School in Statistics will be decided on the basis of qualifications only and does not require an entry examination.

Announcement for admission to PhD Schools of University of Padova is to be published at the University website http://www.unipd.it/en/doctorates/ on the first day of September 2010, with deadline after 30 days (i.e. 1 October 2010).  Applicants should submit the application and supporting documents to the University within the deadline.
