09.03.07NA    Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should not show their social or political views in the classroom.
不同意
老师应该适当表达自己的社会政治表达，因为这个是人的根本权力。
社会和政治课本来就需要老师表达一定的观点。
如果老师不怎么表达自己的观点，那么学生不容易理解。

Since sociology and political courses are important in Chinese school. Almost every one is ought to take it as a fundamental course from elementary school to college. There are many opportunities for discussing or studying sociology and political courses, including teachers and students are freely express their own opinions on social or political problems. Some question whether it is proper to do that, I strongly support the opinion that not only teachers and students, but also the others could express their attitudes toward to social and political problems.

Firstly, everyone has right of expression. Free expression right is the basic right for everyone in our society. Quite a large member of people in history are struggling and fight for this right. Take the Chinese history as an example, a pioneer named Li Dazhao who always seeks for the democracy in the 1930’s. At that time, people were not allowed to talk anything about social and political problems, otherwise, he or she would be punished. But as time went on, more and more western democracies flowed into China from Europe and other countries. The right of free expression is totally suit the situation of development. Li started a war in oder of establishing such kind of right in China, and many racial young people went for it. Finally,a few years later, they succeed. And another example is Martin Luther King, he never stops fighting for black population in the United States.

Just take the course into account, every one in school need to talk, express one’s own idea and freely discuss problems. School is a holy place which is the place foster intellectuals. Besides, in order to let students easier to understand, teachers are responsible of explanation, including that social or political opinions.  For example, what are the differences between Marx and Hegel on sociology, in that case, teacher may give the answer with expressing some own attitudes to help the student understand.

Expression is a holy and basic right, moreover, it is a basic right for creature in this world. Free expression is even more important for teachers in schools for making students understand, and that is one of proper ways to foster intellectuals for a country and the world. We can not deny teachers the free expression on social and political issues.

09.03.29 do you agree or disagree, students will not use printed books anymore.

As we all know, students, especially college students are required to read a large number of books each semester. Majority of them need to spend the whole day, even the whole night in school library to read enough, so that they can meet the coming examinations. Some of them are quite bright, because they buy kindle or ipad, and put all the pdf format of the books that are required to read into the e-reader. In that case, they really do not  lock in the library. Therefore, many people suggest that we should publish ebooks instead of paper-based ones for its portable and less wasting. In my opinion, I quite disagree with it. I still think that paper based books are basis for studying.


Firstly, paper based books are long lasting for centuries, and they have become a sign of our culture. Many of them, well-designed, have a high level of aesthetics. With a beautiful typeface and typographic design, combined with good quality paper, we can not just delete these from our culture.


Furthermore, staring at the words on the screen of any portable e-reader or computer do much harm to our health. An increasing numbers of people are suffering the bad eyesight, particularly in the third word. Young people, like college students and high school students are involving physical development, they seem much easily to get bad eyesight if they ignore the harmful behavior that spending too much time reading on screen without a break.


To store your books on an electronic devise will cause another problem, that is you will lose everything when your computer gets crush. Take my own experience as an example, When I was a junior in college, I was preparing my coming examination, because the part-time job, I spent far less time on my own studying, I had to study extremely hard before the exam, so I need to read almost five books a day. In order to avoid of bringing the five books all day long, I have to store them in my ipad. My cousin was definitely interested in my ipad, he was curiously pushed the formatting button, and suddenly everything had gone. From then on, I never use electronical stuff, but computer to store my important study material.

As far as I concerned, ebooks will never instead of  paper-based books in students’ life. We students really do understand the aesthetics of book designing and take the eyesight problem seriously, besides we will not put the study materials which is more important than our lives into the unreliable electronic e-readers.
