In the realm of company, the professor refutes the idea in the passage that the four-day workweek would increase company profits by stating that company have to spend more on money as a result.For example, companies would have to provide more money training workers, in additon, company still have to pay more money for the health insurance as the population of the workers increases. Ultimately, companies are forced to offer more space and more faciities like computers which also cost more money.

In the realm of government, the four-day workweek would not decrease the unemployment rate as the passage claimed. Inially as the great amount of money companies have to understake, they may encourage employees to work overtime in four days, it is possible that the five-day work will be finished in four days. The result is no more jobs offered, thus the employment rate cannot be reduced.

In the realm of employees, the lecturer asserted that employees’life may not be improved as a result of the four-day workweek. First the reduce of their work days may harm their advancing career, as they cannot improve their work abilities, they may lose jobs easily during the economic depression, besides promotion will be hard for them as companies needs managers to supervise the employees for five days a week.
