People benefit more from traveling in their own country than traveling in a foreign country
When it comes to the question whether people benefit more from traveling in their own country than a foreign country, I am, and probably will always be the person to insist that people could benefit from a domestic traveling. As a Chinese person, our splendid culture which had last for unbelievable 5000 years and magnificent scenery what had almost covered landscapes from tropical zone to Frigid Zone, all of this is enough to satisfy the appetite of the most hypercritical traveler. In my view, people should travel abroad under the premise that they had been familiar enough with their own country in terms of culture and geography environment. Otherwise, traveling abroad is just a waste of foreign exchange and time.


To certain extent, put no limit on, even encourage, traveling abroad is bad for one country’s economy. The most pervasive point is that social studies had found tourist industry had contribute nearly 23.5% of GDP in 2009, according to the Nation Statistic Bureau. Secondly, traveling abroad will conduce the lose of large amount of foreign exchange which will further influence one nation’s foreign exchange reserve. What is worse, inflation rate indicating by the consumer price index may is out of control. Unfortunately, the consequence of this is the unstable political environment of a sovereign nation. Thirdly, some corrupt official may take the raveling as an excuse to gamble or escape.

Keeping the channel to communicate with other nations does not mean people have no obligation to continue and develop the culture of their own country. Unfortunately, most people had forgotten about it. Take some for instances, many young Chinese girls admire Korean and Japanese ideals blindly, thousands of girls go to korea and Japan during their vacation time. While, the worst thing is that they can not identify and separate the decadent ideology in the culture of these two countries. Ironically, some famous scenic spots which ever have profound influences in the history of the Chinese nation have been forgotten such as the Confucius temple in Shan Dong province.

It is defiantly a shame to be crazy about foreign things and obsequious to foreigners. This may sound extremely, but this is the reality in China, and some other countries especially the developing ones. So the work to develop the national self-respect should have the top priority, simultaneously, encouraging people to travel domestic is a good way of educating. Additionally, Taking account for the health of our countries economy and safety of foreign exchange reserve, I strongly recommend the government to restrict the traveling to foreign countries because there have been too much cases that corrupt officials escape to foreign countries with billions of RMB and lose millions of money on the gambling table.
