Do you agree or disagree with the following statement.
It is better to have broad knowledge of many academic subjects than to specialize in one specific subject.

  In this modern society rises a topic of public interest, which compares studying various subjects with focusing on just one specific subject. To be honest, the benefits from the fromer one will be what i will perfer to. In a further way, it is such a choice that will provides good qualities, improve our modes of thinking and increase employment opportunities. The following examples and reasons will justify my side on the topic.
  First of all, through the study of various subjects provides us with noble qualities. As Francis Bacon put it “ histories make men wise; poem witty; the mathematics subtle; philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend.” It clearly indicates that learning different courses will not only enlarge the knowledge but also improve the quality of ideology and morality, which is one of the essential factors of success. It is the advantage that one specific subject cannot offer.
  With the first point comes the second demonstrating the effects on our thourghts. Frankly, the comprehensive study, with its rich knowlegde, will affect our understanding of the society. Why are we intensely concerned about the mass killings in Rwanda? That’s because we know about the atrocities of Hitler and Mussolini form history class. Why are these on-going,concerted efforts to curb the spread of AIDS across the world? That’s due to the biology lessons we have learned about the ravages of the black death and TB. And why do we believe that lofty heroes are just human. Partly thanks to our literary knowledge about Kaiser’s love affairs with Cleopata. Hence, the more knowledge we have, the deeper troughts we get, and the shorter distance to succeed.
  Despite the above convincing points, my third points, with the same value, also concentrates to the importance of broad knowledge. it plays a major role of job wanted. Most of us have formed an unrealistic picture of our career. They sometimes imagine it to be a sort of the begining of success. But the other side of the picture is quite the opposite. Because of the lack of rich knowledge, they can’t even got a job in reality. countless examples have indicated that comprehensive knowledge will definitely qualify the students for the future social competition and provide them more opportunities to come to the top.
  To say that both the reasons and examples have challenged my viewpoints of study. In a word, it is hard to imagine what our life would be without broad knowledge of many academic subjects, which is the best gift in life.
