issue198 Instead of encouraging conformity ,society should show greater appreciation of individual differences.

Which should our society encourage, conformity or individual differences? As conformity manages to strengthen the cohesion and solidarity in the society, while individual differences succeed to exhume all kinds of special talent to contribute to the world, I cannot agree with the title to incline to either side completely. In my opinion, although we should never fail to encourage conformity for a more stable and united society, on the other hand, individual differences should not be neglected or suppressed.

Conformity endows people with overall sense for the whole group to join with each other tightly. To create out powerful cohesion of an organization or a society, we may have to turn to conformity. Requiring people to go by the basic principles or regulations admitted by the public, individuals have to pay more attention to the interests, needs and goals than those of individuals’. With the consciousness of conformity, the bank of ego reside from the river of life, members will spontaneously take more consideration of the collection and mix himself/herself peacefully with the others’ fate. Since people are all able to account for the interests of the organization at first and put them in the first place, when several various individual demands go conflict with the overall interests, conformity will make sure that the latter won’t be vandalized and thus achieve to prevent the organization from disorder and schism.  
Individual differences add more vitality to the colourful world, by which everyone find its own position and make special contribution to the society in the complex world. As we can see from the nature, the secret of vividness lies in diverse species. To us human beings, individual differences not only deprived tedium of the world, but more important, individual differences enable different special contribution to the society. For example, some of us possess talents in computer, then we may do something for development on modern networks; some of us possess particular genius in art, we may do good to refine human’s minds; some of us possess outstanding ability in communication and transaction, then we can do something for the development in business field. It is because individual differences that our society attained to balanced itself in development in all kinds of fields.

Neither of them should overpass the other too much, for either extreme would do a lot of harm to society. Conformity and individual differences seem to stand in two ends, and to prosperous our society, we should not stand too far away from one while too closer to the other. In modern times with the threaten of spreading of anarchism and individualism, conformity showed out more importance, but we should not so that go to the extreme and force all individual differences into the opposition. Or else, our society may suffer from unilateral development. If in another time when individual differences turn out to be more important, we have to be warn of individualism which damage the cohesion of the organization as the most powerful propulsion.

评语：论点设定认为两方面都是必须的，但是论述的比较平淡，没有什么比较有力的例子，说理也一般。两个body各自为战，最终论点的落实深入就不怎么好。语言上一般，总体用词不是完全贴切。大约是4分水平。by imong
