So crucial is education that people spare no efforts to offer studentswith the highest quality of education. Recently,the debate over whether increasing teachers' salary (salaries?) is the best wayto improve the education quality is now causing increasing public attention. People'sopinions are apparently divergent. Some people hold favorable attitude, due tothe great encouragement from the money for teachers, while others have acompletely contrary view. As far as I am concerned, the best way of improvingeducation quality is the investment on equipments and facilities in schools,instead of continuously giving money to teachers. In the first place, under no circumstancecan people deny the dramatically contributions of high-tech equipments toarising students' interest and attention on knowledge. The recent two decadeswitnesses the rapid change in education ways. In my city, virtually everyclassroom is equipped with video camera, computer and has access to internet.Therefore, teachers are capable to show vivid pictures and videos to makestudents think more widely and comprehend more deeply. Compared with twenty yearsago, when students could only learn from what the teachers wrote on theblackboard, high-tech facilities and equipment undoubtedly evoke the educationquality, which the high salary can never bring into. In the second place, it is disputable that wonderfulfacilities, like indoor sports stadium or library with tremendous books, exertmore positive impact on students when they have to learn by themselves. Myexample may illustrate the point more profoundly. I rarely went to the librarywhen I was in junior high school, since students had to search the book withoutcomputer, which was extremely inefficient and wasted time. Now, my universityspent 100 million on the library, which is now equipped with computer systems,video rooms, seminar rooms and so forth. It benefits me a lot by searchinginformation effectively and efficiently and having more opportunities of groupdiscussions. Thus, the investment on school facilities is so necessary thatstudents will get more benefits from them. As a result, the quality will beimproved. Ultimately, no one can deny that other facilities, such as well-equippeddorm, high-qualified cafeteria, also play a significant role in the educationquality. By offering a good environment, students can concentrate on studiesmore easily. From what has been discussed above, we may now draw the conclusion safelythat in order to improve the education quality, school should not pay attentionon the equipments and facilities too much, thanks to the fact that they arousethe interest of students to learn knowledge, they enables students learn moreefficiently by themselves and concentrate on studies more easily.
