The argument is well-described, but it is not well-analyzed. According to a report from local hunters the number of deer is declining, which coincides with the global warming,
the author concludes that decline in arctic deer populations is due to failure to follow their migration patterns across the frozen sea. However, a better qualified editorial should have probed into this issue further, finding the argument suffers several flaws.

The report in the argument might be problematic in two respects. First, we are not informed that the number of local hunters involves in the report. If the number is so small, such as 5, but the total number of hunters is as much as 150, it can hardly make any convincing conclusion based on such a small sample. Secondly, the author provides no information about hunters who respond the report- specifically, whether they are representative of the hunters in general. If they are all young and have no so much hunting experience, leading them hard to find deer. Or maybe their skills of hunting have been out of date, deer have adapted to this trap, the fewer and more biased hunters involved in the report are, less reliable the report is.

The argument depends on the assumption that the recent global warming with ice melting is a good indication that temperature of islands in Canada's arctic region .Yet, it is not necessarily the case. It is likely that the temperature of some other regions rather than the islands in Canada's arctic region increase greatly, whereas the temperature of Canada's arctic areas actually does not change because of its unique geographic terrain, which leads to an increase in global temperature.
Thus, there might be no relationship between global warming and number of deer in in Canada's arctic region

The argument is based on assumption that being unable to follow the migration patterns is the sole factor that affects the living of deer, but the author fails to consider some other alternatives to decrease the number of deer. Is it because the overhunt of deer by the hunters? Or is it because there is not enough food that deer’s survival needs? Or is it because air or water pollution in arctic areas decline the opportunities of living of deer. Perhaps deer in arctic is slow to adapt the change
in the arctic environment, they begin to extinct because natural selection. Only after evaluating all the alternatives and causes for the declined number of deer in Canada's arctic areas, one might make a final conclusion that decline in arctic deer populations is due to failure to follow their migration patterns across the frozen sea.
