急求建议：华盛顿大学统计学硕士

有哪位前辈在读华盛顿大学统计学研究生的么？或者对这家大学的统计学硕士项目有了解的？
他家统计排名不错。可是网站上信息很少。我想知道

１）他家的统计硕士是为了给毕业生找工作的还是主要偏研究的？
２）大概招多少人？竞争激烈程度跟那些学校的统计硕士相似？
３）项目placement怎么样？
４）奖学金，学费之类的信息。

1  课程设置偏研究，有thesis和exam两个option; 毕业要求系里网站上有
2  每年不到十个人吧，至少这两年如此
3. 没数据，我去年问过
4. 这两年主要是AD，有学生之后找到TA的。学费不记得了，在学校网站上能查到的

1）课程是否flexible？就是我想去其他系上课的话有限制么？
2）他家统计硕士分不分方向？偶有点想往金融方向发展，知道他家生物统计好，可是不知道其他方向有没有人做。。。
3）之前从国内取得同学都是什么背景？现在去向如何？

1. Check the website for course requirement. As far as I remember, there are certain selective courses.
2. As far as I know, there is no separate concentrations. There are courses in computational finance inside of the Stat Department. I know one person who is planning to apply for Finance PHD after getting Stat MS at the UW.
UW Biostat Department is in School of Public Health, whereas Statistics Department is in College of Arts and Sciences. If you want to apply for BioStat MS, it is a different program.
3. I don't know any international MS students who have graduated and where they went after graduation.
I heard that one person is working at Boeing after obtained her MS from UW. She is not Chinese.

I think most Stat programs would like to admit applicants with solid mathematical and statistical background.
Without knowing the level of the courses you have taken, I really have nothing to say.

Although I do know the background of two persons who got MS admission last year, I don't think the information is helpful for you since both of them double-majored and one of the majors was math.
