12.23-1.10总结
时间过的真快，不敢相信我已经坚持17天了，嗯嗯。
我们的群到目前为止已经发展壮大到74个人啦！当然，很多人是我以前考托福和SAT时的QQ好友还有老师，然后呢，偶就动用私人关系把他们邀请到我的群啦~
估计很多人觉得莫名其妙地就进来了吧，呵呵。

【背景】
开这个群的初衷其实是我自己要学，所以拉了一帮人。我每天总结好，大家看看也能受益。关键这样我就不能偷懒了，呵呵~ 只要有你们在，我会很有动力的哈~
当然这个音频内容是超级棒的，所以我还是很忠心的希望有时间的童鞋去听一下的哈~没时间的话就看我的总结好了~

【学习内容】
再明确一下，现在我们学的是赖世雄免费英语网上的每日一读。网址：http://www.ivyenglish.com.cn/Learn/index.shtml


【学习目的】
赖世雄老师是我很尊敬的一位老师，人非常nice~
讲课也很耐心。 跟赖世雄搭档的这个老外叫karen.非常牛！中英文可以自由切换。并且还会多种语言~ 在台湾大学教书，她的发音，哎。太赞了！

关键是每次他们都是本着完全解析的态度，看到类似的短语就会有扩展和延伸，你可以学地道单词的用法，学句子，又了解一些美国的背景。（Karen常常会用英语来讲些自己的看法）。还能听力、口语。这些文章也是很棒的。因为是杂志，就有不同的版块，比如作文、阅读。总之，就是一个字：好！ 每次只有半小时左右，再花点时间自己吸收，消化一下。每天真的花不了多少时间。但却锻炼了自己的听说读写。

怎么练听力？--->一般如果不是填空，那Karen会先把文章念一遍，这时候你就可以不看文本，只听听力，看看自己能听懂多少，然后再对照文本听，整个讲解完成后再不看文本听一遍，直到完全听懂为止。

怎么练阅读、写作？-->读写其实是可以放在一起讲的。读地道的文章，扩充必要的知识面（有生活也有学术）。再根据老师的讲解和我的笔记，活学活用，没事写写英语文章，可别只看不用啊，新学的短语是很容易忘记的，所以只有靠不断地巩固才能真正变成自己的东西，所以这就是个积累的过程，也是实力提高的过程。

怎么练口语？-->讲解文章时常会扩充一些短语，很多在口语中很实用，这时候就可以记下来啦，然后Karen因为是外国人，赖世雄常让她为我们用英文讲解，他们俩聊天时也是中英文结合。所以当他们用英文说话时，你的耳朵就要竖起来了！别以为听懂了就完事大吉了，想想如果让自己说会说吗？ 如果不会，那就赶紧暂停音频，反复听几遍，跟着说。

还有一种很棒的练习方法是：汉译英。每次这个每日一读的材料都会有中英文对照。记得以前看资料时就有很多人提到练口语自己就能练，不是说非得找个老外或者到英语角云云。你就拿段中文，自己看着说英文，再和原文对比。这样多练练很多表达自然就会说了。我自己口语也很差，因为很多时候就是脑子里的中文不知道怎么用英文说，写作文时也常碰到这种问题，所以汉译英是个很好的练习方法。 很多教新概念的老师就是让学生这么去做的，不过新概念的文章很多都过时了，哪有每日一读的文章新鲜哪，哈哈~

另外就是发音问题，虽然说内容比发音重要，但是到了国外，发音好的人更容易融入他们的圈子，更容易教到朋友。Karen就说：发音是一个人的门面。所以她对自己的要求非常高。这也是为什么我们听她讲中文是如此舒服，进而就觉得这个人很亲切呢！

学发音没别的巧，就是两个字：模仿。Karen的发音非常纯正，声音又好听，个人非常喜欢~ 所以没事就跟着读呗。一次读不好就多读几遍呗。

这里有个误区，我的很多同学都认为，发音这东西，你练的再多，也就那样，跟老外没法比。只有到国外生活过几年了才能提高。我不这么认为。 凡事都是一个不断反复和熟练的过程，要对自己有信心！不要因为自己觉得自己没希望就真的放弃了。基础差没关系，慢慢来，一开始不要贪多，学一句就把一句学透。赖世雄以前英文还考过7分呢，但他就是靠自己不断地跟读磁带，接触大量英文，自学成才的。后来公费留学美国，但没去之前英文就很好了。他基础这么差都能学好，就很能说明问题了。

而且啊，不知道你们有没有注意一个细节，就是他即使现在这么牛了，还是在不断地学习。比如每当Karen说英文句子，他听到比较好的用法时，就会让Karen停下来重复一遍，自己学的同时让大家也掌握了。毕竟他不是外国人，所以很多东西都是靠他自己慢慢积累起来的。


当然了，对于要出国的同学，这个材料还是不够的。听力和阅读都是要大量地听和读才能有一个质的飞跃。但是如果能按照我上面说的这么练，也可以达到很高的水平了。每个同学的基础不一样，每天用于学英语的时间也不同。所以可以自己来衡量一下，现在是什么水平，希望达到什么水平。这样就会知道该利用这些材料到什么程度了。

Technology is moving at the speed of light with new breakthroughs quickly becoming a part of our everyday lives. An aspect of technology that has reached futuristic heights and is spilling over into our reality is robotics. Once the stuff of science fiction, robots are the wave of the future and they soon will be found in homes around the world.




Japan, the leader in innovative technology, is at the forefront of this new horizon. Unlike other countries such as the United States, who long to use robotic technology for military purposes, Japan is aiming to make robots for the typical consumer. At a Japanese expo held in March of last year, visitors met robot tour guides as well as ones that danced and played instruments. Visitors could even leave their children in the care of a robotic babysitter.




Japan's push to integrate robots into everyday life is out of necessity. The Japanese have a longer lifespan than any other population. At the same time, they are reaching a critical point as many Japanese are opting to have one child or remain childless. As the population ages, there will be fewer people to financially and socially support the aging masses. Who will care for the elderly in the future? More than likely, robots will fill the role of caretakers and companions. Young Japanese are also unwilling to take jobs that are dirty, risky, or physically tiring. Once again, robots will have to be utilized to do the jobs that humans aren't willing to do.




It will be some time before robots are like the ones in the films of Steven Spielberg, but with the leaps that have been made in the last decade, it is only a matter of time. Eventually, man will look back at these early days of robotics and smile at how far we've come.

强烈推荐大家听一下这篇，没时间听的就把我前面的笔记看一下。这个关于cheating的话题让赖老师感触颇多，呵呵。然后他就介绍了他怎么由作弊大王发愤图强的。 Karen补充的话我也觉得超级有道理的。这几天学AP，感觉要补得东西太多，我原来就没怎么认真学物理化学，完全是当成任务，做完作业完事，再加上一年没接触，现在都忘了大半了。所以任务很艰巨。于是妈妈就很担心啊，那你AP怎么办呢？（AP为美国大一提前课程，我的微积分、物理、化学必考）我说没事啊，难有什么关系，基础差有什么关系？谁是开始就会的呢？
只要我有学习的能力，就没有什么好怕的。学就是了。

今天听了Karen的话，更加有信心了：you should just know that doing it is better than not doing it. No matter what your level is.
所以下次碰到觉得自己某方面学习搞不定，很烦躁想放弃时，就对自己说这句话吧~

再摘一句我在AP英语语言书上看到的其中一条successful testing strategy.
Overall, be prepared! Become familiar with the test. Remember that increased comfort builds confidence and relieves anxiety. These skills can be improved by practicing frequently.

I never cheat on any school tests, but my friend once asked me to help him cheat on an English exam. No sooner had he made the request than I turned him down. You don't remember very much. So you really should follow peter's hint, and just take a very small passage or short passage and read it really thoroughly over and over again. And if you have an audio file, keep listening to it and imitate it You read along with the file and repeat after the file. And just learn that one passage really well, that's better than reading lots of stuff and forgetting everything.

Karen: Yes, you should just know that doing it is better than not doing it. No matter what your level is .you think "Oh, I'm so bad at English and might just give up ". Forget about that attitude.
No matter how bad you are, if you work on English for 10 minutes that is better than not working on it for 10 minutes. So go for it.

Karen 学中文： Put a lot of time into it. But it was not a burden at all because I love it so much. It was such a pleasure to me, and it just did not feel like work.

Whenever the temperature turns down suddenly, allergic people will feel very uncomfortable. As for me, I have nasal allergies. My nose is sensitive not only with dirty air but also with cold. When I go outside, the polluted air makes me difficult to breathe. As the season turns chilly, except easy to catch a cold, I also suffer a running nose. Sometimes carpets, dusts, or animal furs cause me allergy. I can't even fall sleep at night because I can't stop myself to sneeze.



Since my allergies aren't curable, what I can do is wearing a mouth mask to keep my nose warm. Keeping my room clean to avoid allergic sources is also useful. This winter, I will do my best to lose allergies and have a happy winter vacation.

U2, the world's most popular rock band, started as a group of students in east Dublin, Ireland, looking to make their voices heard. In 1976, drummer Larry Mullen posted a notice at school about starting a band. Soon thereafter, Paul Hewson (now known as Bono), Dave Evans (The Edge), and Adam Clayton joined forces, and U2 was born.

The band's popularity soon took off, and by 1984, they were selling out concerts around the world. Their success was attributed not only to their loud, energetic, and visually stunning performances, but also to their diverse styles of music that appealed to a wide range of fans. Their most famous album to date, The Joshua Tree, was released in March of 1987. Heartrending songs such as the rock ballad "With or Without You" soared to the top of the charts, and U2 was featured on the cover of Time magazine.




Nowadays, U2 is still rocking the charts. Due to their legendary success, they were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ensuring U2's place in history.

U2 is not only known as a rock band, but also as a group committed to humanitarian efforts. Since the early 1980s, the group has worked for change in the world through their lyrics as well as their actions.




In 1985, U2 joined with other influential musicians to perform at the Live Aid concert, a benefit to raise money for the famine in Africa. At that time, folk legend Joan Baez was struck by lead singer Bono's dedication. She commented, "This young man is deadly serious about something, and is expressing himself with such tenderness it is enough to break my heart."




The Live Aid concert was only the beginning. In the past 20 years, Bono has become a strong figure in international politics. Specifically, he has demanded action to solve the problems of debt relief and AIDS in Africa. Along with recording and performing, Bono somehow finds time for meetings with heads of state and conferences at the UN. His dedication has earned him a nomination for the Nobel Prize.




Most recently, Bono used his worldwide fame to help bring musicians together for the Live 8 concerts that took place last July. These free concerts were scheduled just before the G-8 conference, a meeting between the leaders of the world's eight most powerful nations. Live 8 was indeed a success, as the G-8 leaders agreed to contribute billions more in aid to Africa.




Overall, U2 has shown the ability to bring out the best in people as well as create incredible music, making them a band that is truly worthy of praise.

A Greek myth tells of a woman named Arachne, who boasted that her weaving skills surpassed those of the goddess Athena. Athena paid her back by turning her into a spider. Today, we call these and other _(1) eight-legged
_ creatures arachnids after the doomed Arachne.

If you've ever watched a spider clawing its way across its web, then you know it's a predator. Its fangs release venom, which paralyzes or kills its _(2)prey_.
