作文如下
No pains, no gains Many of us are brought up with the famous people who worked with might and main to achieve their prosperity. Some people claim that their successes are largely due to their luck or gift. Although luck and gift are indispensable to prosperity, I believe in the adage “no pains, no gains”, or in other words, the prosperity comes after hard work.
One of my reasons is that through hard work we can accumulate abundant knowledge which is crucial to success. It is widely held that those prosperous figures, without no exception, try to work as hard as they can and learn as much as possible, not wasting a single day.
Benjamin Franklin, American scientist, writer and diplomat, led a poor life in childhood, but he never gave up his eager for reading. It is the knowledge accumulated with his every effort over the time that helped him to be an outstanding personage. Therefore, hard work, I maintain, equips us with the required knowledge for success.
Another reason is that one can perfect his abilities through persistent hard work. No one in the world could arrive at his career peak with only one stroke of luck. There is no royal road to success. Look Howard, Angel, written by Tomas Wolfe, was rejected 39 times before it was finally published and established its fame. If the author had quitted at the first time when his work was refused, we haven’t been able to read such an influential novel in American literature. So, continuous diligent work enhances our ability and prepares us for the success.
The final reason is that hard work gives us the confidence to seize the opportunity to prosperity. There is no denying that only when we fully prepared can we be confident to show our best. And the continuous painful work is the only condition for full preparation. Although luck and gift play an undeniable role to success, we should never neglect the fact that without solid foundation of knowledge, one will lack the confidence to brave the challenge. Consequently, he has to see the precious chance sliding by.
In conclusion, I give my vote to the adage “no pains, no gains”, because hard work make us knowledgable, perfect our abilities and accordingly make us confident when opportunity comes along. Therefore we should bear in mind that if we wants to be prosperous, we have to work hard, and don’t only rely on the gift or the luck.
