Do you agree with the following statement? Government should focus more on environment preservation rather than economic development.

In recent decades, people in growing numbers are caring about environment. Thanks to the disasters happened so frequently these two years, whether government should focus more on environment preservation is a hot issue for both individual and public. As a student who is major in geography and a protector of environment, I can not agree more to the former idea. And I will gie you some meaningful reasons as follow.

First of all, the government should focus on environment preservation because we can not live without our planet. There is no one can deny that we are living on a planet which should be taken care of in every minute. It is earth that where human beings are created. The government is obliged to invest on environment preservation to protect the place where human beings are going to stay in millions of years.

What is more, due to the pollution done by human beings in the past decades, the government should help to fix it. The damages of environment are all because of the lust of human beings. For example, people invent vehicles and vehicles indeed cause air pollution. People’s lust causes the damage of environment and government is a part of it. Since we pay taxes to government, it should help us to pay back to our planet and think of ways to fix those problems.

Last but not Least, when it comes to economic development, it means many sacrifices are going to happen. I can use my profession to prove that the environment of our planet is very fragile today. In addition, China is a big agricultural country, if the government pays to much attention to the economic development, the blind pursue will cause severe consequeses.

Taking all factors into consideration, I definitely can not agree with the idea that government should focus more on economic development.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Some scientists are responsible for the negative impacts that made by their discoveries.

During past century, the world was changed by some significant discoveries. The scientist, who make extremely great contributions to the convenience of life also lead to some negative influence by their discoveries. The nuclear weapon, for instance, was invented due to the discovered theory of energy. So the scientist who can develop the most advanced technology was criticized by the public for some reasons.

Admittedly, scientist was responsible for their discoveries. Steam engine, which was invented by Watt, had caused the first industrial revolution in the world. After industrial revolution, people’s lives style had been changed in many aspects, like the booming in the number of factories and people no longer stay at home but go outside to use the machines. A discovery or a small invention can lead to a big revolution and change the whole world.

However, the negative impacts of discoveries were caused by us. Can we say the usage of weapon is not for the sake of human beings’ lust and desire? Some people assert that Albert Einstein was responsible for the nuclear weapon exposed in the Nagasaki. Think twice before you get the answer. Who was the culprit of the World War Two? It is definitely the Nazi that start the war. It is unfair to blame a person and assert the whole damage to him.

In addition, the discoveries is just a stage, people with less moral sense would use the stage for evil. For example, the scientists invented the internet, but they did not tell people how to spread pornography on the internet. People use their evil thoughts and other technology makes it happen.  

In sum, the contributions done by scientist far overweight the drawbacks of their discoveries, which are even not their faults. The saying that scientist should be responsible for the negative impacts of their discoveries is unfair to whom is dedicate themselves to change the human beings live.

Do you think that young people should take several different kinds of job before they take a career in a long term?
With the advance of human civilization in the past century, young people now are facing more choices when they graduate from school than before. Some people hold the view that young people should make full use of the chances and take several different jobs before they set up their career, which is good for the development in full aspects for them. While others strongly opposite the idea. As the proverb goes “so many people, so many minds”, it is quite understandable that people from different backgrounds put different interpretation on the same topic. However, as for me, the advantaged of the latter idea far overweight the former one.

First of all, young people should make clear targets of their future life and to pursue the achievement and success in certain ways, for example, keeping working for a certain job. As we all know, the celebrities and famous scientists who make great contributions to their countries had always been focusing on their major. For instance, the famous scientist who has written the book the theory of relativity, Albert Einstein, has constantly been doing experiments on physics. He eventually achieved his success result to the continuous hard working on the same topic. The reason people reach accomplishments and become one in a thousand in their field is because they concentrate on their profession, not their attempt in other jobs.

The second reason for my propensity of young people should focus on their career is that the high rate of unemployment in the last ten years is keeping increasing. With predication of economist that the unemployment rate will be still soaring in the future, young people should not just care about their interests and risk to change their jobs in high frequencies. During the education stage, young people should learn how to combine their interests to their profession. Young people, who are facing the problem of marriage and raising a child in the future, should be responsible for their own lives and have a stable, long-term career.


Taking all the factors into consideration, young people should think twice before they make decisions of choosing jobs. The jobs they are going to take do not merely mean the salary but also a style of life. Young people are facing responsibilities and their own futures.

The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers' salaries

With the advance of human civilization, the society pays more attention to the education present days. At the same time, how to improve the quality of education has aroused a heated discussion among the citizens. An increasing number of people repute that the main factor related to this issue is teachers’ salaries. However, personally speaking, I disagree with that statement for many reasons. I will to list those supporting details in following paragraphs to strengthen my viewpoint.

First and foremost, the quality of education is associated to many factors, basically the internal aspects of the students. There is no denying that the students’ academic record and other skills reflect the quality of education. Students, who receive education, are performing as an exemplification of education. But what if students do not want to study from the bottom of their hearts? For example, some students with rich parents have the chance to go to best schools in city, but they do not cherish that opportunity and often strike from school. After years, those people are, to some extent, illiterate because they do not wok hard. That is to say, whether a student has the willingness to achieve certain goal is the most important factors of quality of education. Maybe psychologist can make effort to help them, and obviously this phenomenon can not changed by merely the salaries of teacher.

The second reason for my propensity is that teachers devote themselves to educate the students only because they are warm-hearted and it’s their mission to do so. The principle of a teacher is education for all, which is promoted by Confucius, a Chinese philosopher, two thousand years ago. The conception of increasing teachers’ salaries in order to improve the quality of education is contradicting the professionalism of teachers. As a student who is majoring the physical science education, I think it is insulting to rising salaries, in other words, we do not teach students merely because of money.  

Last but not least, the governments or schools should invest on the facilities in school. In our country, some schools are facing a problem that they do not have advanced equipments, which are important for the education of advanced technology. For example, the internet searching room in the library of my school can not hold large quantity of students so that many students have to wait for hours to reach the accesses to the information.

All in all, I admit we can not ignore that teacher’s salaries are influencing the quality of education to some degree. However, taking all the factors I wrote above into consideration, we can come to a conclusion that there are more factors can affect the quality of education than the salary issue.

With the advance of human civilization, people pay more attention to children’s education in present-day world. The issue on whether children should help to do household has raise a widely discussion among citizens. Some hold the view that children should play and study more, while others opposite that statement. As the proverb goes “so many people, so many minds”, it is quite understandable that people from different background put different interpretations on the same issue. As far as I am concerned, the disadvantage of the conception of student should be away from household work far overweigh its positive impact.

First of all, doing the housework gives children a lesson on responsibility sense. Children, who have not completely formed their personality, are easily influenced by their experience in the process of growing up. For example, children who are required to take care of a plant at home have to deal with a lot of considerations, like when to water the plant and where to find medicine if the plant get sick. From the experience of looking after a plant, the children know how important they are for the family and the creature they are taking care of.

The second reason to support my propensity is that household works can also enrich our knowledge and common sense in practical. With the wide use of internet, we can get all the information we need merely from a computer. However, the information we collected from internet is totally different from what we learn in practice. For instance, I always prepare dinner for my family. One day, my twin sister said she want to cook for us and searched detailed information on each dish, but when she began to cook, she was scared the sparks resulted to the combination of water and oil and screamed to asking help from me. The computers, or study, can not tell you that, before you cook a dish you should make your pot totally dry.

Last but not least, the time children spend to help to do household work with family can intense the family tie. Children spend more than half of their time in school and have little time to communicate with the family members. The time we spend with family members, like cooking, washing the car, offer us chances to get further understanding of other.
