是assistant professor，但是另外一个和东亚有关的文科系的。给了不少建议。现在想想可能只是人家比较礼貌

看到这么多同学申UW，我想问一声。。申UW的都申AL&L的中文TA了吗。。申中文TA的都接到通知要笔试了吗。。

我也申了UW，什么都没有收到。只是收到这个邮件。后来貌似自己也没申请。
Dear Graduate Applicant:

Thank you for your application to the Department of Asian Languages and
Literature at the University of Washington.  You can check online to see
if your application has been marked as complete.  Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions or updates.  We are in the early
stages of our review process, and hope to make offers of admission by
late February.

TA Applications Due January 18:

Please be sure to apply for our TA positions in Chinese, Hindi, Japanese,
or Korean language.  If you might be qualified to teach more than one of
these, we ask that you submit a separate application for each.

For your TA application, we can use your transcripts and letters of
recommendation that you have already sent us for your graduate
application.  Let me know if there is one particular recommender among
those whose letter you would most like to be part of your TA application.
If there is someone who can write you a letter of recommendation that more
directly addresses your ability to teach, and/or your ability to teach
that particular language, then feel free to have them email or mail a
letter of recommendation to me.

Historically it has been very rare for us to be able to offer a Chinese TA
position to a new graduate student in our department, but it is still
worth applying if you are well qualified.

FLAS Applications Due January 18:

Please also consider applying for a FLAS award (you can find a link to
application information at the UW Jackson School website listed in the
email below).  These applications are also due on January 18.  Since
awards are given for many Asian languages, it may be worth your while to
apply for a FLAS for your main language of interest, as well as for one or
more other languages of which you may have less knowledge, but that could
be an important part of your research or future career.
