The speaker asserts that the people can not be succeeding in teamwork if they do not accept the criticism from others. Aside from the criticism is nonsense and malicious, I fundamentally agree with the opinion that heeding criticism from others is a key role in the process to success.


As a threshold matter, it is necessary to distinguish between criticism which is reasonable and constructive and criticism with hostility and antagonism. In the latter case, I can easily foresee that there are some people always try to fabricate something you have done wrong, because either they want to show their competence over you or dislike your position. In fact, in this case there is no need to hear these grouses even though they are camouflaged as "criticism".


However, in the most circumstances, people show their critical words only when they are concerned about the project you are cooperating with. So this kind of criticism is sincere and helpful. For instance, in a building design project, you are assigned to drawn the components and structures of a theater. While one of your teammates may point out that the exit aisles are not enough to evacuate the audiences in emergencies such as a fire. You may take heed of this advice after you realize the guarantee of safety is more important when compared with the augmentation of seats. In fact, you teammates and you are actually in the same boats when you cooperate with the same project. After all, you will shall the same honor or disgrace when the project ended with success or failure respectively.


Moreover, to take the criticism from others is a good virtue that a respectable people should have. In some huge system project such as sending a exploratory probe to Mars, you may hear different criticism and doubt about whether the spaceship can withstand the extreme heat, the fuel are enough to push the probe into its orbit and so forth. Those factors are all crucial to make sure the success.


In sum, apart from some nonsense and malicious criticism, I strongly agree with the opinion that one should take the criticism from your teammates and that quality is a fundamental factor for your success.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should not talk their social or political views to student in class.

The speaker asserts that teachers should not express their social or political opinion in front of students. I agree insofar as some radical and extreme viewpoints should not be manifested by the teacher. At the same time, however, in an enlightening class any topic including political and social issue should not be excluded from the teacher’s syllabus.



Admittedly, It is inappropriate and event has a detrimental effect on students if teachers express some extreme and radical views to students who are on their early stages of life, which means that they are more susceptible to outside influence. If his or her teacher happens to hold an opinion such as all the governments are the instruments to control their people, the students who take this idea seriously might have a problem in their future study of democratic society, or have a rebellious tendency against government.


However, it seems that there is no bad effects that teacher just expresses their opinion to students in class. On the contrary, it will bring some enlightenment to students.


First of all, true democratic society is predicated on individual freedoms--of choice, speech, expression and so forth. So it is our inalienable rights to express our social and political opinion freely at any circumstances including in class. Teacher as a citizen shown their viewpoints in class just reflect the fulfillments of their indispensable rights.


Secondly, we have always been encouraging our students to engage in political and social issues, it would be paradoxical if we inhibit our teacher from express his or her opinion to students. In my opinion the class is a holy place where different opinions and values conflicted and converged, through which our students can build a more sophisticate understanding on some social and political issues. For example, the teacher may points that there is lot unfairness in our tax system, and students either agree or disagree can give their points of view and put some feasible solution to these injustice.


Finally, through these enlightening classes, students will develop an invaluable quality--when the teacher gives his or her views, the student will not accept it blindly, other than contemplate it carefully and thoroughly and finally give his own view.


In sum, aside from some radical and extreme political and social views posed by teachers, I strongly believe that the teacher should have the rights to express their opinion in class and this will be beneficial to students.
