Government support art museums and music performance or recreational facilities

Art museums or recreational facilities? Since this issue concerns about taxpayers' money, government is supposed to make an appropriate decision, shouldering the huge responsibility for citizens' life quality. People may prefer art museums and music performances because the respectable reputation, spiritual wealth and convenience for art education that they would bring. However, they neglect to notice recreational facilities have an indispensable/irreplaceable significance on government finance, social harmony and citizens' well-being. My reasons will be articulated as following.
Initially, bolstering recreational facilities is more beneficial for the government finance for its inherited less cost on construction and maintenance. In the short term, fitness equipments, for example, are cheap and universal for almost every city, whereas they facilitate people's health to a large extent by providing considerablely convenience for taking exercises. This progress in residents' health coming from exercises or bright mood oweing to recreational facilities can made a remarkable cut in medical welfare expenditure in the long run. Therefore, no matter short term or long term, supporting recreational facilities is sensible and smart choice for government concerning the finance issue.
The statement above alone cannot explain my viewpoint sufficiently for its narrow focus. To be more convincing, recreational facilities contribute to social harmony and stability because they make an essential role in relieving stress from heavy burden of work, study and depressed economy, promoting interpersonal communication which leads to a warm and friendly living environment. With reference to a survey by the UN,the appropriate amount of recreational facilities (300 to 2000 varying in city's size and population) are highly related to cities' criminal rate induction. This relation, I believe, is reasonable and supportive for my opinion.
Despite the two convicing reasons I mentioned above, fundamentally and primarily speaking, citizens' well-being is the most compelling reason for government to support recreational facilities. My friends and I like to sing songs together in KTV after the exams. It makes us relaxed after great nervousness and pressure. When spring comes, we will take a excursion in the parks with beautiful flowers and green glass. Getting close to the nature make us healthier and energic. Recreational facilities do carry out a positive influence and take an irreplaceable role in our life.
For these three reasons, government is supposed to support recreational facilities in term of finance, society and residents. Operating them smoothly adds color to both government achievement and people's life.
