Do you agree or not with following statement:
most people solve their important problems by themselves or with the help from their families; the help from government is not necessary?

Would you ask help from government, if you have some intractable problems to solve? Different people hold different opinions towards this question. Some say solve problems personally or by families is easier and more convenient, others consider that the help from government is more feasible and efficient. Although some problems can be solved through your own effort, others cannot be tackled without the help from government. In my point of view, I disagree with the statement. Admittedly, government always plays a significant role in all aspects of our life and help from the authorities is essential.

Government is able to offer more effective and powerful help. To be more specific, government has more ability to deal with some particular insolvable problems than we do. An example can illustrate this point, there used to be many vendors along my home street which always cause the traffic jams. It would be totally difficult for pedestrians and vehicles passing through the street. The only one we can think about to ask for a help is government. We told the situation to the authorities and the problem was solved efficiently and effectively by the hand of government. Thus, we cannot tackle each of the problem without the assistance form our government.

Sometimes, families or friends cannot provide the supports even they want to. For instance, my uncle used to be unemployed during the time of financial crisis. He could not sustain his daily life without any income. He shamed to ask help from his families, because his families also seemed hard at that time. My grandmother was indeed in poverty during the financial crisis, she could not afford her live expense too. The only thing my uncle could ask for a help is government, government gave him a sum of unemployed allowance which can support my uncle until he finally got a job. As you can see, families cannot provide supports in some cases, if my uncle doesn't ask help from government; he may live in anguish at that time.

Despite we can deal some problems by ourselves or with the help form families or friends, Government’s assistances are truly necessary. We, as citizens have the right to ask assistance from our government if there are difficulties that are hard to solve. Asking help from government is absolutely indispensible.

Young people should try different job before they decide which job or career they will do in the long term?

Allow me begin the writing with a story of my sister, my sister is six years older than me. At the time when she graduated and attempted to get a decent job, she refused a fortune 500 enterprise which offered her the job of Director of Sales. It is truly a pity, as we all know, work in a fortune 500 enterprise means a lot. But what my sister said is that she wants her life is complete and no regret, she doesn’t want to be a puppet and do the jobs what she doesn’t favor with for a life span. Thus, she travelled the whole country and try different kinds of job. I guess my sister made an absolutely good choice for doing different jobs, in my point of view, people ought to challenge themselves when they are still youthful and vibrant.

Having various experiences of different jobs can bring the youth inspirations and harvests on the diverse aspects of many things that we cannot achieve if we only do a single job. To be more specific, different jobs have to deal with different methods, strengths and attitudes. We can challenge ourselves by doing this, and for sure we can harvest a lot. I once read a psychology-related passage on newspaper, it is said that people who tried different jobs is more positive, confident and risk-taking than those who only had one job. The passage also mentioned that the changing of jobs bring people the more intrepidity to face the difficulties and hardships. For a long-term perspective, experiences of having different jobs truly can bring us many advantages.

My second point is trying different kinds of job will determine the enthusiasm for the true career that young people want to do and this ensures that the half of the success of their future career. In my opinion, find a job that we favor with is just like the choosing of our major in university. In university, we can attach to different subject in order to choose what we like and good at as a major. As for me, there’s no different between chose a Job and major. Take myself as an example; I made the same decision with my sister. I also do many kinds of jobs, and I found that some jobs I can do efficiently because I like it; it brings me a great enthusiasm do to it. Finally, I found myself is suit for doing a newspaper writer and I’m genuinely lucky that I’m doing what I like. Sometimes, Jobs are not only the way we our income, but also the thing we need have affection.

Although changing jobs frequently is more unstable and arduous, different jobs can bring us more than a single job can access. Different kinds of job not merely mean different works to do, but also the valuable experiences and colorful life journey that were achieved.

The lecture mainly discussed the points that American wood companies have the necessary to purse the eco-certification in order to meet the needs of their consumers. This directly contradicts what the passage indicates.
First, even exposed in the so many kinds of advertising; American consumers will value and distinguish what they buy. In America, the Independent consumer agencies are also glad to meet products with advertising which publicize the idea of eco-friendly. Specifically, the American consumers have the awareness to protect the environment and they’re willing to buy wood products that have the international reputation of eco-friendly; However, the reading notes that American do not give credit to what advertising said.
Second, the price is determined by competitive product according to the lecture. So this means that if the price differences between eco-certification and normal products are small. The American consumers are willing to choose the products with eco-certification due to their ecological-minded.
Third, thanks to the awareness of American consumers, foreign companies will be popular because of their eco-certification. The foreign companies will dominate the American market if the American wood companies cannot capture their consumers. Consequently, the American wood companies will not have any chance in both American and foreign market. On the contrary, the reading states that American wood businesses need not to consider the eco-certification, because most of their products sell in American and they are a large consumer base which mean they‘re not necessary to have the eco-certification.

First, borrowing money from merchant didn’t apply that Chevalier was poor. In fact, Chevalier had abundant property and he just needed the time to turn his assert in to actual money. In order to ensure the parties and gambling would not be delayed, He borrow money form merchant; however the passage notes that Chevalier just was not as wealthy as he mention in memoir.
Second, the content of conversation between Chevalier and Voltaire was accurate. Because Chevalier wrote down everything he could remember about the special conversation and when he wrote his memoir, he reflected the notes which he wrote down. Also, witnesses have confirmed that Chevalier’s memoir is based on the notes and journals. On the contrary, the passage states that Chevalier could not remember what exact the phrases from conversation after so many years past.
Third, Chevalier truly escaped the Venetian prison by himself. There are two evidences to provide the accuracy of this event. One is that there are also many successfully famous people and even more powerful than Chevalier in prison at that time. But none of them was free, if Chevalier had friends who could offer a bride, why other people couldn’t? Another evidence is that the celling of prison which Chevalier stayed was broken and had been fixed, this best supports that Chevalier had escaped from the celling by using a mental to make a hole. While in reading part, critics claims that the escape of Chevalier from prison is just for excitable reading and he was free by jailers.

Agree or disagree: Movies and television should always show audience that good people are rewarded and bad people are punished.

Nowadays, we are exposed to different kinds of digital media; movies and televisions are the most well-known and intimate things in our life. In fact, Movies and television are far more than have fun and relax; sometimes they also serve the purpose of propagating and education. In my point of view, movies and television have the responsibility to set good models for our society.
There is no doubt that movies and television have influences on children who haven’t developed a full understanding of basic moral value. I once read a psychology-related survey on newspaper; it is showed that the children who watched TV more than two hours a day prone to act violently and destructively than the children who didn’t. The survey also said that children will be inevitably affected by the frequently appeared scenes of violence and sex. Likewise, if movies and TV always showed the children that people will rewarded because of their good actions; children will imitate in the same way and vice versa. As we can see, Movies and television have the educated function to our children. Thus, there’s nothing to argue that the plot of bad people are punished will always appear on the screen.
Furthermore, we also need to admit that movies and television have to reveal correct moral value to the society. Try to think about if movies theaters and TV programs always publicizes the reversed facet to our basic moral understanding; how will the society like? Absolutely, the society will full of chaos. Nobody would like to obey the rule, because they have the desire to imitate immoral things. For instance, in china there used to be a man who killed children in kindergarten which reported in news and attracted a great attention among the society. After the report, there have the similar cases which related to kill children in kindergartens and primary schools. I believed that this example indicated that propaganda of immoral value may cause bad influence in the society.
Despite always set good examples and nothing creative or reversed in movies and television programs will make audience feel tedious and won’t have any interest to watch them, for a long term consideration, we have to choose always play correct moral value on the screen.

Agree or disagree: If child want to do well in school, parents should limit the hours of watching TV programs or movies.

Nowadays, our young generations are easily exposed to many temptations that are irresistible; parents have the responsibility for taking some measures to control and restrain their children from engrossing in those things. Although, TV and movies have some advantages to our children, in my point of view, I strongly support that a well-performed child in school has the parents who limit their child’s hours of watching TV and movies.
Despite there is no doubt that documentary and scientific programs will broaden children’s horizon and expand their knowledge; admittedly, movies and TV programs also contain a large amount of violence and sex scenes which are harmful for the mental development of children. I once read a psychology-related survey on newspaper; it is showed that children who watched TV more than two hours a day prone to act violently and destructively than the children who didn’t. The survey also said that children will be inevitably affected by the frequently appeared scenes of immoral things. As we all know, if children have good performance in school, he or she won’t prone to imitate something bad or violent. Thus, parents have to limit their children’s time of watching TV programs and movies.
Another reason for my argument is too much TV programs or movies are not good for children’s physical development which means they cannot do well in school. Scientist has told us too much TV may cause laziness of our brains, we won’t think actively when we are watching TV programs. It’s horrible for a very child stop thinking and only focus on the TV. Also, too much TV and movies will cause unhealthy style of living. For example, when children watch TV, they will just lie in sofa and eat potato chips. If parents don’t restrain the time of watching TV and movies, their children may become coach photos and I don’t think the coach photo will do well in classroom. Moreover, too much TV time will have a bad effect on children’s eyesight; we all know how important eyesight is to our children. If children cannot see clearly on the blackboard, he or she may lose focus and won’t learn anything.
Undoubtedly, TV and movies can make us fun and relax; bring the beneficial things that children cannot learn in textbooks and classrooms. We are not avoiding children from TV; we’re just ensuring the children’s performance in school won’t be affected by unlimited TV programs and movies, because Children are not mature enough to control themselves from such huge temptations.

The lecture mainly questioned three aspects that discussed in reading and indicated that work four days a week won’t bring any advantages to the economic condition, company’s profit and employees themselves.
First, working four days a week will cause more spending than usual; there wasn’t any profit for company. Hiring more staff means companies have to pay more on job training and other skill training. Also, companies have to spend money on purchasing new desks, computers and other office appliance which for new employees. Furthermore, even work for four days a week, the social welfares will not have any change which suggested that the cost on new employees’ health benefits and pension have to be paid by companies. However, the passage indicated that hire more staff won’t cause additional spending due to four-days working employees only be paid 80 percent of their normal payment.
Second, company will require staff work overtime in order to make five days’ work be completed in four days. To be more specific, due to the huge costs on hiring new staff, company won’t employ new staff. But company will asked their employees to work overtime to make up the difference and expected same amount of work will be done in four days. Thus, employee will just feel unpleasant than usual which won’t make any sense for them to work for four days a week. On the contrary, the passage stated that shorten workweek will make staff rested and pleasant than usual which will achieve high efficiency in their work.
Third, employees who work four days a week have disadvantages far more than advantages. The stability of their work may be decline, because during economic downturn company will first fire the employ who work four days a week. Also, employee won’t have any chance in promotion in some management position because company more like people who hard work. This sort of risks will decrease the quality of employee’s life. While in reading part, it claims that have more time with family, doing things enjoyed is better option which don’t have to be worried.

Agree or disagree: It's more important for the government to spend money in building art museums and music performance center than building recreational facilities (such as swimming pool, playground).

Nowadays, government is more concerning about their citizen’s living standard and investing more on both cultural and sports recreational facilities. Some people prefer facilities for culture and art; others prefer recreational facilities, such as swimming pool, playground. As for me, I would like to support the idea that government has to spend more money in building art museums and music performance center rather than recreational facilities. Because for a long term consideration, recreational facilities cannot bring far-reaching benefits than art museums and music performance center do.
It is commonly acknowledged that both of the facilities can relieve people’s pressure. But investing in art museums and music performance center can cultivate citizen’s ability to appreciating art and music, therefore the overall inner qualities of citizen will be improved. I once read a passage that related to how arts and music influences on people, it suggested that people who like and spend more than one hour a day on arts and music look more well-educated and sensible than the people who don’t. It also stated that arts and music would inspire people’s creativity and help them find passion again. As you can see, for a civilized society, art and music are indispensable.
Despite facilities like swimming pool and playground can help people to exercise and keep physically good health, art museums and music performance center can promote inner and mental health of people. Art and music are good at relieving people’s stress. Nowadays, the art therapy is popular and it’s useful for easing the people who always in a stressful and exhausted state. Art and music is sort of psychotherapy that can help people ease the symptom which sports cannot easily deal.
Art and music are valuable spiritual wealth for human. Thus, it is necessary for government to spend more money on art museum and music performance center rather than recreational facilities.
