Some peoplebelieve that computers have made life more complicated and more stressful. Inmy opinion, computers have brought many benefits and made life more convenientand efficient work.


First of all,computers have made it possible for people to communicate with each othereasier. In other words, computers can neglect distance between people in thereal world. For example, I could easily contact with my friends throughcommunicating tools installed in computer, such as MSN, or by sending emails tothem, who live far away. It's hard to imagine how complicated for people tocommunicate with each other, if they live far away from others. So, computersplay an essential role in people's daily communication.


Another reason isthat people could use computer to shopping without leaving their home. Inmodern society, people have to deal with massive things every day; they evenwish to have 48 hours a day. They must be more efficient in order to spare moretime for other things. For example, if there is no computer and you want topurchase something, and then you have to walk from one shop to another, if youare fortunate enough, you could find them without spending a long time,however, it is quite possible that you spend several days, but find nothing!Computers have presented an efficient way for shopping. Use the computer tosearch the nearest shop that sells things you want and go to buy it. So,shopping through computer can spare you more time.


What's more, manycompanies have used computers in their work. Computers can store enormousamount of data and information, and can process those data, such as search,copy, or cut. If we have no computer, lots of trees will be cut down to producepapers that are used to preserve those data; this can cause detrimental effectsto our environment. Also, with millions of papers and documents, how long itwill take to find several certain papers that record the information we need? Ideem that nobody can tolerate that.


Generally, basedon above reasons, I advocate that computers have made life easier.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Movies and televisions should always show audience good people being rewarded and bad people being punished.

As watching movies and televisions is taking more and more time in people's daily life, hot debates about what movies and televisions should convey have aroused. Some people claim that they should show audience good people being rewarded and bad people being punished, while others hold the opposite opinion. As far as I concern, movies and televisions should illuminate the idea that good people will be benefited and bad people will receive penalties.

The most important thing we should realize is that programs of movies and televisions have the responsibilities to help children established their moral standard and can affect their attitude toward the society, so they must be meaningful and show some positive aspects of the society. Children are the future of our humans, their activities and believes can partially determine where humans will head and how our society will develop, however, they can be easily influenced by their circumstances or surroundings, such as movies and televisions, and also behaviors or thoughts of their parents, relatives and friends. Parents, or teachers, have long told their children, or students to be people of high principles. However, movies and televisions should never conflict children, they must consist with parents and teachers. If they do not, some unpredictable bad results may appear. For example, if children are always watching programs that someone can make a profit by breaking the laws or violating rules, eventually they will probably form the opinion that they could do whatever they can to make profits neglecting the laws or restriction of the society, because they do not think they will have many changes to be published. Equally, if the televisions always express the idea that good people never get rewarded, thus children may think that it deserves nothing to be a good man, because they will not get any reward. It's hard to imagine how terrible and disordered the society will become if children hold those opinions when they grow up. That will significantly hamper the progress of our society.

Generally speaking, as programs of movies and televisions may have essential influence on children, I advocate that there should be some limitations on movies’ and televisions’ contents.

If children want to do well at school, parents should limit their hours of watching TV programs or movies.
I bet that many people have attributed their children's bad academic performance in school to watching TV programs or movies, because those parents deem that watching TV programs or movies has taken children too much time that children could otherwise use for studying, and some programs and movies are not suitable for children. However, as far as I am concerned, TV programs or movies should not be entirely responsible.

Admittedly, watching TV programs or movies does waste children lots of time. Many children cannot resist the temptation of cartoons and some other entertainment program, they even do not like to finish their assignments and review what they have been taught in class. As a result, children cannot perform well in school.

However, people can not blame TV programs or movies for wasting children's time. Life is colorful and full of choices, if children are not allowed to watch TV, they could still do some other things that still waste much time, such as playing the World of Warcraft. On the other hand, children cannot stay with their parents permanently and, one day, they will leave their parents and live alone. Therefore, I believe, the most significant thing parents should do is to exercise their children's will power, rather than always limit their children’s behavior. Will power is positive and creative function of mind which impels propel and enables people to do chosen actions in a definitive way, and avoid doing unchosen actions in a equally definitive way. It is that power of mind that enables people to do what they know to be right and not to do what they know to be wrong. Only with strong will power can children do well in school.

People, who disagree with me, like to invoke an image of the children, sitting in front of the screen, not speaking or thinking because the idiotic programs have turned their brains to mush. However, it is superficial to dismiss all of the television's content as garbage. In fact, there are plenty of scientific, historic programs. For instance, children could learn that how the universe originates, or know something about the American Civil War, by watching Discovery Channel, which focus primarily on popular science, technology and history. Another excellent program is Sesame Street, which is a huge innovation in children's education, by using a strong visual style, fast-moving action, humor, and music as well as animation and live-action short films, it helps children to learn efficiently.

By and large, parents should pay more attention to exercise their children’s will power, and conduct them to watch some educational TV programs and movies.
