Education,arguably, plays a pivotal role in the world. People learn to read and writethrough education. There is no doubt that improving the quality of education isalways a predominated topic in education. Although teachers are the key toeducation, I cannot agree that increasing teachers' salaries is the best way toimprove the quality of education.




Firstly,increasing teachers' salaries may result in the decreasing of other
fundings （funds）on education. The sum of the fundings (funds)which use to support the education is limit(limited).When (If) the sumis constant, government should coordinate the expense in order to keep thetotally expense in a reasonable range. As in my university, I cannot imaginethe scene that there are just a few fundings(funds)for educational facilities. In that case, the teachers who enjoy the highsalaries will feel difficult to achieve their educational goals withoutstate-of-the-art equipments.


Secondly,increasing teachers' salaries may lead huge load to some poor families due tomore expensive fee. In order to guarantee enough expense on education, schoolsmay increase the fee of education. Generally speaking, a rich family do (does) not care about the increasing fee. However,in terms of a poor family, that will determine whether the children can go toschool or not.




Admittedly, increasingteachers' salaries can stimulate teachers' motivation in education to someextend. However, increasing teachers' salaries will make some teachers becomemore profitable. In this case, the original purpose of education will beruined. What's more, teachers may become more lazy (lazier)becausethe high salaries can support their lives easily. They can get the paymenteasily than before. That sometimes let education become an industry which focuses more on money than education itself.


To sum up, increasingteachers' salaries is not the best way to improve quality of education. In somecases, that(this kind of method) has moredisadvantages than advantages. Governments and schools should take seriouslyconsideration before they make the decision to increase teachers' salaries.
