Since more recently, physical exercise has played a more and more important role in our life, for nearly all the human being including old people and the youth. While some people regard that it is more crucial for older people, others still hold the solid body of opinion that young man need more exercise. As far as I am concerned, I strongly prefer the latter idea.
The chief reason for me to insist that young people need physical exercise more is that young man has to keep a higher efficiency in their study and work, partly depended on the physical exercise they take. In this sense, they have a greater need for physical exercise compared with the old, since a old man nearly need to nothing but keep healthy and enjoy his/her later life. One good example I can come up with is in my real life. I am working in a company and have a lot of work to cope with everyday. Therefore, I need to take physical exercise three times a day, just like everyday's meal. If I don't do that, I will feel very tired and drop into a low-efficiency status. It is impossible to make more than the wildest guess at how much physical exercise a young person need every day, but we are all hungry creatures, not content with one time per day, only aiming for a higher efficiency, different from the old who can take some exercise as much as he/she wants every day.
Another important aspect for me to link physical exercise to young man is that it usually provides a great chance for the young to keep up with time and make new friends, comparing with the old who are often out of mode and content with their old friends. Nowadays, more and more physical exercise have shown up in our society including golf, bowling, hiking and as well as street dancing. Think of a young man, if he is absent of any of them, he must be regarded as an odd man, and step by step, he will be isolated by his friends. But when we think about an old man, things will be totally different since no one requires an old man to know more about some modish exercises.
Finally, physical exercise makes more sense for a young person to have a strong stamina while an old man does not need this. For instance, perhaps a young man may take a jog every morning, in order to exercise his stamina; usually he would like to jog more which is similar to challenge his own extremity. However, an old man will never do this silly thing because for them, comfortable is always one of the most significant things. Therefore, in this case, I strongly hold the opinion that the young are more in need of physical exercises.
To sum up, although old people can keep healthy-which is their single aim I think-by taking physical exercises, this is always not their compulsory course since they are more eager to be comfortable. However, unlike the old, the young really need physical exercises in order to keep efficient for every day work, keep up with time and make new friends and to raise their stamina. Therefore, physical exercises are more meaningful for them. |
