Topic: It is easier to succeed nowadays than in the past?
Time: 30 min.

It is worldwide known that the current period is sheer different from the past; because what we have met nowadays never exist before, for instance, the Information Age, the globalization, etc. As the issue claims, some people think it is easier to succeed today than the past. However, in my opinion, the situation that today's people have to confront is as difficult as, is not more than, the past to some extent.

To begin with, owing to the advanced technology development, our lives become more and more convenient. For example, it is extremely easy for us to know the information from the Internet, which seems to unbelievable for people of the past. If you want to do some research about science, such as, chemistry and mathematics, you should learn the current status of your program or project. So you google the keywords, author, and then you can get the whole papers what you want. As all we know, it is impossible for people of the pass, lacking of the useful searching tool, which only come out in the current period.

However, we can't ignore the fierce competition and impact of the globalization which people have never encountered before. Although the current age is full of convenience and easy communication, there are quite a lot of competitions at the same time. As the book -- The world is flat-- has said, lots of people all around the world, sometimes are doing the same things. Obviously, the situation is so hard for us that it is out of our imagination. Plenty of people are doing the same thing every day, and you never know who your counterparts are.

In conclusion, because we have never experienced the past age, it is unreasonable even of foolish to say that it is easier to succeed nowadays than the past. Therefore, personally speaking, if we want to win in our period, whatever the past or the current, it will be filled with difficulty and arduousness.
