Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Only movies that can teach us something about real life are worth watching.
A lot of people believe that only movies that can teach us something about real life are worth wathching. Although this view is widely held, there is little evidence that these movies help people a lot. Instead, we find that many new films, which contain different kinds of themes, are shown on the big screen every week and the audiences are in an endless stream. I refuse to admit that only films which could educate us on real life are worth having a shot.
The most important benefit of most individuals going to the cinema is that they would love to amuse and entertain themselves after a whole long week’s work or studying. In other word, real-life educative movies may not their first choice. The viewers’ choice is often affected by the recognition of the actors, the actresses and the director of the films, which is determined by how much money the producers would call together to invest. Young and pretty actors and actresses never lose their wide appeal which makes numbers of adolescrents go to the cinema. Some adult viewers prefer big-brand producting companies and famous directors. All of these comtribute to the amusement, or say the entertainment of one movie. As a result, these movies bocome worth watching. For instance, the Canadian pop singing star, Justin Bieber, performed on the big screen for the first time this year, appealing over millions of dolloars all around the world. All of his fans considered that Bieber’s behavior in the movie was brilliant and the movie was entertaining and deserved to see. However, as was commented, the number just showed that many kids supported their idol and Bieber’s performance did not teach us many things.
For another, the amusement of a movie is associated with the theme. According to a report of official statistics, in 2010, the box office of comedy and action movies have an 80% market share. That is to say, entertaining films are in great demand and people enjoy watching them. The humorous roles and funny stories always impress the audiences, such as Charlie Chaplin’s Dumb Show and Mr. Bean’s Holidays. Staying up to date, many film factories use the advanced technology to display us scientific theme movies. Harry Potter series are quite nice examples. Film-makers provide us a magnificent magic world via 3D-tech. When we are wearing the 3D glasses and sitting in front of the IMAX screen, we can definitely comfort ourselves for 2 hours. On that time, whether the movie is lack of educative seems not important, but I am sure that it is worth watching.
To those films with real life knowledge, they may remind people that what should they do in own growing path, how should they deal with problems correctly, how should they get on well with others and so on. Undoubtfully, they are valuable knowledges, but don’t you find the film is so dull if you concentrate on these too much? Individuals are not able to keep brains running all the time. Therefore, real life educative movies are not the only choice for people.
From what have been discussed above, films which could educate us on real life are worth having a shot, but they are not the only worthy ones for the viewers-they need to relax themselves via watching other entertaining films, too. |
