When it comes to how to treat other peoplein social activities, although some people argue that we should always bepolite to another person, I am, and probably will always be, one of those whobelieve that we should treat others in the same way they treat us.


It is undeniable that being polite arebeneficial in human activities. For instance, one could make more friends whenhe or she is always nice to others. And friends, even strangers, may feel happyand convenient when people smile to them. On the other hand, people are alwaysreluctant to make friends or communicate with impolite individuals, becauseimpolite people are likely to provoke others to anger. More importantly, politenessand gentleness are served as important characteristics for civilized citizens,who have more opportunities to succeed in the world. Therefore, being polite isan excellent way in social activities.


Although being polite could bring aboutseveral benefits, sometimes we have no choice and have to be impolite inseveral situations. For example, it is acceptable to be rude when we face thepeople who always break their promises. Similarly, when people are in low mood,it is difficult for them to smile when someone else bother them at the sametime. Moreover, to prisoners or enemies who seriously threaten the stabilityand prosperity of the society and the country, we should employ the strict lawsto treat them.


People are different in our society andeveryone may have different feelings in different places and at different time.It is reasonable to treat people with different strategies. And forcing all ofdifferent individuals to use the same way to treat others seems to be a littlerude. Although politeness is helpful and beneficial to the people and theirfriends, sometimes being impolite is also acceptable especially when people areunhappy and angry.

Nowadays, some people may hold the opinion that the help from the government is unnecessary since people could deal with their most troubles. As far as I am concerned, the assistance of government is very important to individuals, the society and the whole country. My arguments for the points are listed as follows.

To begin with, the help from government is very necessary to individuals. Although the majority of residents could solve some problems in person, tens of thousands of people, who still suffer from starvation and poverty, need the government to help them. In addition, the disables and old people without offspring could only rely on the government under some circumstances. In sum, the help from government is extremely significant to individuals.

Secondly, the stability, safety and prosperity of society always need the government. For instance, policemen are important when people's house is stolen. Similarly, without firefighters, the property of people will face serious threats when their houses are on fire. As a result, the government is the most reliable element for the society.

Finally, the government is vital to the whole country. For example, education, military, and some peculiar fields are extremely significant to development and safety of the whole country, but individuals could not afford and accomplish these huge projects. Therefore, only the government could play the important role in these fields.

Taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that the help from government is necessary to individuals, the society and the whole country.
