89. "Leaders are created primarily by the demands that are placed upon them."


Retrospect the history, some one plays more important roles than others, they led their countrymen to fight against the dictators and change the history. They are called heroes or leaders. Nowadays, many people lead their companies or governments to achieve their goals. They are also leaders. What make a leader? The speaker asserts: "leaders are created primarily by the demands that are placed upon them". To my perspective, the leader is made by some other factors besides the demands placed them.

Admittedly, the demands play an important role in making a leader. As the natural creatures the humans have the natural trend to keep the pace of the environment, which is clearly explained by the Darwinism. The demands are some factors contained in the whole environment, so they certainly have effect on shaping the characters of leaders. Moreover, the leader is born to lead others to achieve the goal, where also lies the demands. In the Second World War, the leader of German, Hitler, is created by the demands of the Nazi, and Roosevelt is the leader of America and shaped by the justices.

However, the internal force cannot be disregarded. Humans are not like other animals that all shaped by the surroundings, they have the abilities to make choice. A famous experiment made by the psychologists to test the function of one’s internal force. The twins, who are tested in the experiment, have the same friends, same school, same cloths and even the same bed. In other words, they share the same environment. But when the psychologists ask they the same question, they make the different choice. People are in some sense the social creatures, they have the abilities to choose to behavior like this but not that. Leaders are after human beings, so they choose to be the leaders, not the ordinary people. Take the Hitler as an example again, he met the demands of the Nazi, but his role can never be played well by Einstein, despite that he is a jaw, he never chose such character for himself.

Moreover, the internal forces sometimes are more important than the external forces. Demands exist in the current world but only a few persons want to meet them, it is the force of the choice. Hitler can choose to be a peace lover but he did not; Mao Zedong can choose to be a common person but he did not.  

In sum, the twin factors are like the two engines of a plane, without one of which, the plane cannot roar in the sky. Leaders are created by both of the external and internal forces. And the internal ones play more important roles.

我的第2段的意思是人是有外在因素决定的，这是darwin 说的，demands也包括在外在因素里面
第3段是说，人的internal force 也起作用，人们有选择的力量，leader 也是人，所有他们自己选择了去当leader,而不是去当普通人完全是自己的内在决定
呵呵，说的有点糊涂，不知道看明白没有
