11月10日 Do you agree with the viewpoint that people are now easier to become educated than in the past
In modern times, education is becoming increasingly important. The level of education of citizens has become a crucial point to tell how much a country is well developed. As time goes by, it becomes easier for people to get educated.
First of all, educational resources have turned abound. With more resources, people have more access to education, increasing the average education people get. Take the number of primary schools in China as an example: 10 years ago, in my hometown, there were at most one school, which can never hold all the kids of the five towns, so a lot of kids should stay at home instead of school. But now, every town owns at least one principle, which provides kids a nice and cozy place to study in. What is more, internet being popular, people can easily get educated online, such as by long-distance education programs, some of which are well certificated.
Secondly, families are getting wealthier and parents are more aware of the importance of education. Nowadays, most families do not have to worry about feeding problem, and more have acknowledged that education is worthy and powerful. As a result, parents now are more willing to send their children to school, largely improving the percentage of kids educated in China. In contrast, ten years ago, many people in rural areas had more concerns about their farms, so parents always chose to teach their kids how to do agriculture rather than science knowledge.
At last, governments have offered education more support, which enables more people to get educated. In recent 10 years, funding government has provided to education has fast increased in China. The most direct effect is that parents do not have to pay any tuition to send their kids to government-owned school from first grade to ninth grade. This change gives big convenience to those who are poorly-financed, bringing almost every kid to school.
With more people educated, the society would turn out better; and with society better, more people would get better educated. This positive cycle has been well built until now, making people easier to get educated than before, and I believe it would last and provide us with a better world in the future. |
