今早打开邮箱，发现一封来自田纳西大学admission office发来的邮件，我以为是例行公事的邮件。我做噩梦也没想到是封拒信。。。主体内容如下：

The Office of Graduate Admissions has made a careful review of your application for admission to the Graduate School at the University of Tennessee.  With regret, I must inform you that your admission has not been approved. Our evaluation of your application materials establishes that you have not met the following minimum requirement(s) for admission to the Graduate School: 1)     Minimum cumulative GPA2)     Minimum TOEFL/IELTS score (for non-native English speakers only)

我加权83点多，后来又在成绩单上删了三门60几的政经计算机的课。（有点卑鄙。。）托福总分92 S20  L18。。。
这是admission office拒我，应该就是不符合他们学校的最低要求。我看了，gpa3.0，托福80。都符合啊。难道我学校和田纳西加权算法差距比较大。。？

各位看官，帮帮忙看下到底是什么回事。。。

昨天打电话问了admission officer， 小米说我的gpa他们算的是2.98... 所以被拒了
接着我打给了系里，系里说不清楚，但学校拒了他们就不能看我申请材料。他建议我还是去找找学校，尝试重新计算下gpa

推测是你的一些一目了然的主干课程分数低然后一些一目了然的次要课程分数高。这些课程即使学分相同也不一定会被当成同等地位。如果你确定自己不是这样的话，那倒有希望去argue。不过根据https://bbs.gter.net/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=1302025&highlight= 和2.98这个结果，感觉对方给你算错的可能性不大。如果是算法的差异，那应该对方也不会认同你的argue。。你可以看看下面这个标准。。

Grade Point Average and Grades
A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is required on all graduate course work taken at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to remain in good standing and to receive any graduate degree or certificate from the university. All course work taken for graduate credit is computed into the graduate GPA.

Grades in graduate study have the following meanings.

A        (4 quality points per semester hour) superior performance.
B+        (3.5 quality points per semester hour) better than satisfactory performance.
B        (3 quality points per semester hour) satisfactory performance.
C+        (2.5 quality points per semester hour) less than satisfactory performance.
C        (2 quality points per semester hour) performance well below the standard expected of graduate students.

所以很明显，托福肯定是不符合要求的。

申请前还是把这些信息完整确认了比较好。

没有A-   B-  比正常加权算法肯定要低的
但是平均83我觉得就算是标准算法也大概有2.9的样子
再加权不应该只有2,.98
可能是他们把不知道是什么的东西的课给删了  然后这些课又刚好是你的高分课程 于是就悲剧了


顺便我均分也就83多一点，压力略大啊

我加权分在学校的网站上显示的是83.1，后来删了三门课，应该会提高点吧。。。可是我专业课的分都很高啊(我的专业是international trade and economics，就是国贸。。），估计是他们觉得我的专业课都不是他们觉得重要的，可是这又不是系里面，对专业对口不那么要求吧 8# ouyangtracey
