我问过了，只要第一年成绩好，第二年可以选博士课程（三高）的，即使没到资格，旁听也是允许的。还有三门选修数学也不简单：高等微积分，拓扑学，实分析。如果选金融经济学的Track的话，绝对不水。课程有：金融经济学1，金融经济学2（公司金融），风险管理，金融分析（讲期货和期权的，John Hull的书，上课的则是个日本人，有点不顺眼，虽然人家是Stanford毕业的）金融计量。其他上课的老师有三位Ohio State毕业的中国老师，貌似都是从人大来的，如果能拿到经济系主任的推，那算牛腿了吧！他是Human Capital领域在NBER的数一数二人物。其他老师也有发7大期刊蛮多的。

估计不多，因为貌似Placement很多人可以去更好的，但是还是要很努力，即使很努力，也不一定申到，但是起码HSBC总部在那里，井水楼台，不愁没工作。

hsbc都不在buffalo了吧，经济系找工作要比金融难很多的。大部分毕业的都在纽约的小公司或者回国了。

去年buffalo的HSBC已经被local bank-first niagara bank收购了。
