We live in a world filled with kinds of facts. Some facts are stubborn, and we cannot change them; however, there are also many facts, which we can change to some extent. It is unfair to consider all facts as stubborn things and they cannot be altered by our wishes, inclinations or the dictates of our passions.

As far as some special facts are concerned, we have to concede that they are stubborn and the attempts to alter them will surely be futile. We know the earth revolves around the sun, and we can never make the sun revolves with our earth, although in medieval Europe, the common view considered the earth as the center of the universe. As well we cannot change the aging things, which have become stubborn facts and usually are called 'history'. We can no longer change the consults of history took place in special moment since time-another important fact which we fail to control and later- is always lapsing and never comes back.

However, from the immemorial period to now, the humanity weathered a history of progresses and developments, which is created on the basis of people changing the different facts appearing in their time. I mention this based on two aspects of thinking. On the one hand, the facts in different historical periods are different. People in ancient China accounted with the fact that the terrain was so capacious and the population was so small that they had no enough ability to exploit the rich resources; in contrast, in modern China, we have so many people and the resources seems not able to maintain the whole country. On the other hand, people had tried to change the facts, which did not conform to their wishes or standards. Primitive people found it difficult to communicate clearly with each other with simple gestures, and they invented a alternative-language; they feel the need for recording their events and thinking, then the words appeared...

In mundane world, people have controlled unexampled stressful abilities and they are more able and willing to change some facts, which are regarded unalterable in the past in order to make the society ahead. Black disease, which took a large carnage to the medieval Europe, was incurable in that time. However, it has been deported from the earth because of the rapid development of medical science. There are still many diseases can not be cured even understood, but the problems may be ultimately solved in the further centuries, decades, even years, with our hard work and intelligence.

In sum, we should never make futile efforts to try to change what we cannot change but concentrate most our energy on what can be altered and make sure that our society can benefit from these changes we make. Only in this case, the further development of society will be ensured.
