A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.
跪谢大家…………
According to the speaker, all the students of a nation should learn the same national curriculum until they enter college. I approve, to a certain degree, what the speaker says is reasonable in some cases. However, I also appreciate the opinion that
sometimes students should have the right to choose what they learn based on their interests
On the one hand, all the students of a nation should learn the same fundamental courses before they enter college. After all, teaching students most fundamental knowledge and training them to learn, fundamental courses are so important that they have great effects on the students. For example, math, the subject which provides necessary skills which is used in most subjects, should be learn by all the students. What is more, by learn it, students could realize the power of science for the first time which may have them interested in learning. Additionally, to learn well in the college, there is no doubt that one of the prerequisite is to learn fundament knowledge well. Thus, the same courses for all students
is necessary and will surly benefit students a lot.
On the other hand, it is really important to consider the interests of students. Clearly, one could learn well and try his/her best to learn only when he/she is really interested in the course. After all, learning sometimes is a hard work where many difficulties exist. Without interested, learning may be really boring and the quality of learning may be really bad. For instance, Wright Brothers, who invented the airplane, became interested in airplanes the first time they knew it. With that interest, they decided to invented a really airplane which could fly for a long time. Though impeded by some problems when they learned knowledge about the airplane, they have never gave up and finally succeeded inventing it. Clearly, interest of Wright Brothers played such an important role in the inventing of airplanes. Thus, imprudently requiring all the students learn the same courses while ignoring the interests of them is not a wise action at all.
In my opinion, learning is not simply to teaches knowledge nor to purely accelerates individual growth, but to teach students the ropes of how to learn , how to practice and how to find happiness in learning. Hence, whether requiring all the students learn the same courses or considering the interests of students too much are not suitable. To provide students good basic kills of learning, we should require them learn the same fundamental courses while keep their their interests to a certain degree. Clearly, we should just find the balance.
In sum ,whether a nation should require all of its students learn the same national curriculum until they enter college varies in different circumstances. Therefore, to be objective and fair, we had better remove our one-sided views. Only in this way can we realize the nature of this problem and find the best way to solve it. |
