你很好,不是我不知道
Most people prefer restrictions and regulations to absolute freedom of choice although they would probably deny such a preference.
In any democratic society, freedom is necessarily one of the most important essences, which include freedom, justice, love and so forth. But in human' civilization, there was never absolute freedom at all. And for almost all people, although they would probably claim that they prefer freedom and would fight for it, they may really prefer restrictions and regulations to absolute freedom of choice in that individuals always want to know what is 'right' and 'wrong' through restrictions and regulations. Moreover, absolute freedom of choice means one should think over every choice carefully and thoroughly; yet most people lack such ability to make choice by their own decisions.
On the one hand, as the highest social animals, human beings have standards and rules to direct their behaviors. And it is not the society's demand to rule everyone's actions but also the individuals need to distinguish right from wrong based on restrictions and regulations.(not , but also are not properly used ) It is often the case that a little kid would ask his/her parents who is the good guy and who is the bad in a movie; and when the parents answers him or her, the little kid would ask another question subsequently" But why?" It is just a very proper illustration that human beings have the need to know what they should prefer and what not. And to get the answer, they always rely on restrictions and regulations. Moral and ethical standards in every society is just serves( serve is a verb , server as that is ok ) as this function. Furthermore, generally speaking, to be a respected and able individual is everyone's goal. And a basic qualification for this is that one should have high moral and ethical level. Therefore, people always give up the absolute freedom of choice voluntarily and conforms to the restrictions and regulations. Simply put,(ha ha you also like using this ) to choose restrictions and regulations is based on human's will to become noble.(?)
On the other hand, in fact, in this world, many people lack the ability to choose. Individuals would always feel confused and anxious when facing the absolute freedom of choice in that they cannot think over every option carefully to weigh the advantage of and disadvantage of each of them thoroughly. Some people often complain that the society should be blamed for this situation; but actually, everyone should (be) responsible for his/her choice and actions. The young men’s perplexity in this complex and clamorous world is just a case in point. Always, they have no idea concerning what they should do in the future but rely on their parents and the society to choose for them. Then they would feel reassured and relaxed. In China, when a high school student is going to enter college, he or she should choose a major for him or her, which become(S) a hard task for almost everyone in that they can not find out what is the best for him/herself as well as the society. So when students fall into such an embarrassment, they tend to search solutions in restrictions and regulations such as parents ideas and some so-called experts' advice. In a word, when the world becomes more and more complex and full of options, people ironically prefer restrictions and regulations since too many choices in some sense means no choice to most of the people who prefer not thinking and investigation but reassurance and conformity.
It is the fact that freedom of choice is no existence. Moreover, most people would feel better when they in the control of restrictions and regulations. It is our human nature and no one can change it.
