In the last 100 years, no invention has received more praise and attention than television. The advent of television indicates the opening of the information era. It greatly enriched people's daily life as well as directly contributed to the construction of infrastructure like electric power station and communication cable.

With a combination of soundtrack and vivid video resource, television provides a brand new choice to broadcast information besides the traditional options like radio and newspaper. For example, by watching my favorite program, BBC Global News, I am able to absorb more information in a comparatively short time span, and then I can spare more time and energy to develop my personal hobbies. What's more, it allows me to get a better understanding of the bigger picture and how I should fit into it for both work and leisure, which in return help me to arrange my stock investment and travel schedule more reasonable. In a word, television enlarged news coverage, boarded viewers' horizons, revolutionized the way people acquire information.

In the second place, it is really difficult to imagine what life would be without television. Television provides a lot of interesting programs that many people enjoy after a long day's work. Its visual effect makes people feel less stressed and more relaxed. It is no denying that television plays an exceptionally important role as it is the source of satisfactory and contentment in most people's life. I still remember the day when I was in high school, every time when it was no way to get access to a TV set while the NBA playoffs were on live, it definitely a torture for me as a Jordan fanatic.

Finally, no government could afford to ignore the significance of infrastructure construction as television becomes an indispensable part of modern society. Urban planners have to take power capacity and communication cable length into account for advance to meet the television development, which will in return create more commercial opportunities and attract more investment to accelerate regional economic growth.
