When it comes to the issue that whether we should learn about international events despite they have nothing to do with our everyday lives, perapectives, appearently, may vary from individual to individual. Holding the opinion that it is unnacessary for people to be informed of every latest news around the world, some people claim that their own peaceful lives take precendence over anything else. However, I am convinced that it is actually significant for us to care about worldwide affairs, for the reason that thaey do go hand in hand with our daily lives.

First of all, as global citizens, people ought to pay attention to what is happening aroud the world since they might finally be influenced by something occurs far away from our country. A concept called "the Butterfly Effect" implies that a seemingly tiny movement of a butterfly could eventually cause a heavy storm in a far-off place. Therefore, a sudden change in a vallege thousand miles away from our cities may have a potential impact on our pleasing lives. A war breaking out in the Middle East might result in dramatically increasing of oil price in Asia, Europe, and America. So people in these regions might spend more expense in their means fo transportation.

Additionally, concerning about the universal events could provide people with plentiful opportunities and incidents in their lives. People will never know what is going to happen after they open their eyes in a sunlit morning, pick up a stranger on your way home, and fall into sound sleep at night. So how can people take tha chance to succeed? The answer is to notice the tiniest change around the world. Take my uncle Edward for an example. He is an economic professor in University of Birmingham. He often pays attention to some worldwide affirs such as a summit among several presidents of different contries, a new contract for some international issues in economy, and the upward tendency of oil shares. Consequently, when he deliver his lectures in front of his students, he analyses his economic cases from various aspects and makes the lectures so intriguing and practical that all his students regard him as a model to imitate.

Meanwhile, it is an ideal way for people to enlarge their social network. As is said, birds of a feather flock together. When it comes to human beings, it is likely that people tend to have close relationship with those who share the same interests and topics with them. Suppose that one man wants to associate with some businesspersons, what he needs is to accumulate the knowledge of contemporary economy trend. As a consequence, they may have a lot to share. On the other hand, if a person does not know anything in current world except for his own life, there must be little chance for him to start a conversation under any circumstance.

On the whole, from what has been mentioned above, it is natural to deduce the conclusion that knowing what is happening around world is pretty essential for people, even though the events do not influence their lives.
