昨天（0820）的作文，忘记占楼了。先贴来，求大侠拍。
之前写作文都是自己看，偶尔找朋友帮忙看~ 没什么太大改善。

题目：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: university professors should spend more time on research than educating students.

Putting more time on researching or teaching is always raised as a controversy topic. Some advocate that professors should spend more time on research, because professors are the main force to advance the scientific world. However, some other people insist that teaching is the most valuable work. How these young individuals are educated has profound effect on the world in the future. But, quantities of debators may have ignored one vital connection between the two duties.

One must admit that both doing research and educating students takes quite a lot time to absorb oneself into it. In research, the professors are supposed to set up a research project, apply for the research funding, put forward some ideas, and supervise and collaborate with other colleagues on this study project and so on. These tasks require not only time but also energy to assure the good qualities. And the same as research, educating university students also need time and vigor. The professors need to prepare related material for classes, give lectures, solving puzzles of students and read the homework papers. From this perspective, research and education are two contradict tasks.

However, researching and teaching have reciprocal contribution to each other. Never is a professor supposed to teach in a field unrelated with his or her researching area. Some research work and knowledge can be utilized during teaching. For example, in a psychology method course, some first-handed experience gain from research practice is quite favored by students. Besides, it is recommended that the professors pass some most pioneering findings to students. so papers and experiments usually used to prepared for studies is helpful in teaching, too.

Apart from that, some teaching activity can also facilitate researching. When communicating with students, professors may gain some hints of research ideas from the questions raised by students. Some students interested in a certain field may also give a hand in physical and mental researching job. In that way, teaching activities may alleviate time and energy load on professors and even promoting the research progress.

To summary up the point I mentioned above, the statement might make a mistake to put researching and teaching in an opposite position. Even though they have some contradiction in sharing time, there is great possibility that they promote reciprocally with each other. The key point is to make a balance.

topic：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: The best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide.

Nowadays, travel is one of the most prevalent ways for people, especially for workers in metropolis, to spend their vacation or leisure time. They expect to lessen the work load, take a view of natural scene, and share joyful time with friend and families. In response to the prevailing market of this trend, traveling agency emerged flourishingly. It becomes ubiquitous that attending a group, signing up a travel agent and wait for the guidance the whole traveling time. However, whether this approach suits everyone who want to have relaxed requires careful balance.

In one hand, traveling led by a tour guide has many benefits. There is a spate of trifles need to be considered during traveling, therefore, a guide can alleviate the boringness. For example, if one want to travel without a guide, he or she need to order the hotel by oneself. While traveling guide usually offer the service including order hotels, and sometimes they can even get a lower price. Besides the living place, a guider might get a discount on some entrance ticket, which can save the traveling expense. In the meantime, a qualified and experienced tour guides would make the traveling more joyful and more valuable. When guiding the tour, he or she would share plenty of anecdotes. If one prefers to eliminate all the trifle matter off mind, just want to enjoy a free load holiday, I recommend this option.

In the other hand, traveling guide has some limitations which some people may feel intolerable. Traveling agency always set up a fixed list and sequence of scenic spots, so the individuals cannot change it according with their own preferences. Besides, the available time planning to spend in each individual spot is quite limited, some travelers could not fully enjoy the marvelous scene in such a short time. The last but not the least, traveling with many other strangers might not gain so much knowledge and experiences as traveling alone do. Since there are other people who need the guide to pay attention to, he or she cannot communicate with only several people. If travelers cannot enjoy the journey under these disadvantageous condition, planning and traveling by oneself is a better choice.

So in my own perspective, the best way to travel is to call several friends and colleagues together to form a small group, and then find a guide for the group. In this approach, we can set our own plans; avoid the disadvantages of fixed route and limited time when having fun. Also, we will achieve the advantages of having a tour guide and decrease the expenses. Apart from that, we also get the bonus of enhance the relationship with each other.

0821综合作文 TPO15

The reading passage introduced a harmful impact from the cane toad in Australia, and put forward three possible approaches to solve this problem. However, the lecturer cast doubt on these solutions. She stressed that these methods might not only prevent the damage, but also destroy the ecological system. Her evidences are as following.

Firstly, according to the professor, the national fence would not prevent the cane toad from spreading into those areas they have not colonized. The eggs of cane toad can survive and travel in rivers and streams, so do young toads. And there are rivers passing through the national fence, thus it can transfer cane toad to other places. In this case, the first solution in the reading passage would fail.

Secondly, the professor mentioned that even though volunteers can help to destroy cane toads, those untrained volunteers might bring damage to the local environment. There is another kind of animal, a native kind of frog, which is hard to distinguish from cane toads, live in those areas. And this frog is not supposed to be captured. If these volunteers mistake the two species, they will trigger another unbalanced circle. So this method is not supposed to be effective, either.

Thirdly, the virus may be brought to America and cause ecological damage there. Because lots of researchers and other people usually bring some cane toads from Australia back to American, if the cane toads was infected, it will also bring the virus back to America. In a result, the virus would spread and destroy cane toads in American. As far as the cane toad is a native American species, this process would destroy the environmental balance in America. So even though the virus can prevent the damage caused by cane toads in Australia, it should not be spread out. In this way, the method mentioned in the reading is supposed to be stopped.
